The Ivy League continually sinks to shockingly low depths, but the latest news is particularly chilling. Today, the Harvard Extension Cultural Studies Club will host the Satanic Temple group as it reenacts a Black Mass on Harvards main campus.
Just what is a black mass? Said to have been created in the Middle Ages by those who practiced witchcraft, the black mass is a Catholic Mass, except inverted for example, Communion bread is desecrated and mocked. As for the New Yorkbased Satanic Temple, it is the same group that recently proposed erecting a large statue of the devil beside an existing Ten Commandments monument in Oklahoma.
The Harvard student group is standing by its decision to host the event, stating: Our purpose is not to denigrate any religion or faith, which would be repugnant to our educational purposes, but instead to learn and experience the history of different cultural practices.
Pardon me, but our purpose is not to denigrate any religion or faith? The entire purpose of a black mass is to denigrate the Catholic faith. Do they no longer teach basic-level thinking at Harvard?
As Yahoo! reports, the Archdiocese of Boston is calling on its faithful to pray for those involved and on Harvard to disassociate itself from the event. It says that such activity separates people from God and the human community, it is contrary to charity and goodness, and it places participants dangerously close to destructive works of evil.
Some media reports have been quick to downplay the controversy, with the New York Daily News almost mocking the Archdioceses concerns, writing: All this talk about Satan has spooked the Catholic Church.
The Satanic Temples spokesperson, who goes by Lucien Graeves (of course his name would be Lucien I had at least three friends named Lucien in my goth days), spoke to the Daily News, stating that the black mass is meant to be educational and is not a supernatural ritual (adding he is an atheist).
The Daily News continues with a nothing to see here, folks tone, writing: This makes The Satanic Temples activities more of a political statement than a cohesive religious ritual.
But is this event really just political and not at all religious? The Satanic Temple describes itself as an organized religion. Will not this black mass incorporate language, symbolism, and artifacts of undeniable religious significance?
And if the Harvard groups purpose is purely one of exploring political disruption or social radicalism from an educational standpoint, it raises the question: Would an event mocking Islamic beliefs ever be similarly hosted? We all know the answer.
Given the seminary origins of Harvard, and its early motto of Veritas Christo et Ecclesiae (Truth for Christ and the Church), how far has this nation sunk when this event is held on Harvards own grounds?
A. J. Delgado is a conservative writer and lawyer.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, everything evil coming out of this country today can be traced back to the Media or Academia!
Didn't Obama go to Harvard:)
He had some photos taken of himself in a courtyard there, so I guess that’s factual. :)
Asking St. Michael’s help here:
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle,
be our protection against
the malice and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan
and all evil spirits
who wander through the world
for the ruin of souls. Amen.
Each time they do something like this, there are conservative people who are quiet but still notice their evil. In the end, those same conservatives will advise their children to avoid those universities when shopping for a school. Twenty-five years from now, when they look at who they are getting, they will wonder why.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
I know this.
I would work for no organization that gave Satan any audience at all for any reason ever.
No would I send and children or money there.
What a disgusting and fallen institution Harvard is.
it is a malignant cancer in the body of America, and it produces new cells non-stop ;/
I’m sure you’re right, but it would be interesting if he were to reveal himelf in the flesh to the “celebrants.”
In Obamaland, Islam and Satanism are now protected and promoted religions while Christians are persecuted.
Will Harvard, in his commitment for freedom of expression, allow a ceremony centered around the desecration of the Koran, using it in a profane sexual ritual, or defecating and urinating on it?
Will Obama and Holder allow the desecration of the Koran with impunity as they are allowing the desecration of the most sacrosanct act of the Catholic Church? Will Obama put in jail those involved in the black mass as he put the Coptic Christian who dare to criticize Islam in a youtube for the Muslim persecution of Christians?
Yes, indeed. Thank you for posting that.
You or I would be horrified at such an incarnation, but these morons would probably delight in it.
Harvard has a reputation to uphold. Doing things this way won’t maintain that for long,unless they are content on living on their past reputation with no regard for the future. This is insane for an institution of higher learning,unless that is not their goal/mission any longer. How sad & disgusting!

Will Salem’s witches be invited?
Even more to the point would they let a Tridentine Mass or an Old Style Evangelical Crusade happen in the name of exploring cultural expression?
There's a university chapel (once upon a time, Harvard was founded to train men for the Calvinist ministry), but it preaches some sort of watered-down liberal creed.
We live in sad times - they mind end up being bad times yet -especially when the watered down religionists are the ones who encourage persecution of true believers!
