These Gnostic, (and in this case it seem Islamic) texts are not Biblical and WERE written hundreds of years after the traditional gospels (and even letters of the Apostles).

Could the Prophet Muhammad possibly be the False Prophet; with the Antichrist being still to come in the future?

the work, claims that Jesus was not crucified, instead it says he ascended to heaven alive and Judas Iscariot was crucified in his place. Furthermore, the 1500-year-old bible states that Jesus Christ was not the son of God, but simply a prophet who passed on the word of God.

That is a good statement of the moslem heresy. 1500 years ago? Not at all surprising.

Then it’s not a Bible.

Almost certainly a gnostic gospel. For gnostics, the key was Jesus' secret teachings, not his resurrection---we won't have physical bodies in heaven so a bodily resurrection was not required.

Gnostics were pretty much wiped out by the fifth century so, if it is gnostic, it has nothing to do with what's his name from Mecca.

It will be interesting to find out how old it is. Irenaeus, the heresy hunter, mentions several gnostic books in his 180 AD treatise.

Bibles with silver or gold lettering on purple vellum are certainly not unknown. Many of the very early manuscripts are like that including the one at the Vatican and the one from the monastery at Sinai. I forget what year it was but a Roman emperor ordered a bunch of new churches built and one of these fancy bibles for each.

Well, one would have to look at the text to see if it is the same Gospel of Barnabas-—could be a completely different text with the same name.

Exactly. Aren’t they a little late in the year for this one? Usually the lamestream media tries to post these stories around Easter Sunday/Holy Week.

I say to Muslims:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Are you declaring John, the Disciple Jesus loved, a liar?

And if Jesus said this, why would God need a Muhammed 600 years later?

No, your Muhammad was a fraud, taught by Satan, the Father of Lies.

NO ONE comes to the Father BUT THROUGH JESUS THE CHRIST. NO ONE.

1) That Jesus ascends bodily to heaven is like how Mohammed was supposed to have ridden to heaven on his horse.

...and the name of his horse was Barack.

Hence the expression, and the horse he rode in on...""

Moses made all things for the tabernacle according to the pattern that God showed him in the mount. Those things were a shadow of heavenly things. The candlestick was one of the things, and all of the seven lamps burned at the same time.

So it is with the seven Spirits of God. Yes, it’s true that Laodicia is still here, but in nations where severe persecution rules, Smyrna and Pergamos are still here as well. The others are also still here, as is evident in the various trials of faith taking place around the world.

Insightful post. I think you're right. The Bible, being God's Word breathed by the Holy Spirit, is in a sense, fathomless. I think the real reason is because the Word of God is Jesus Christ Himself. Reading the Bible is like getting to know the person of Jesus Christ - an eternity-long occupation. Ofttimes when I read something I've read many times before, I see something I hadn't seen before.

Having said all that, I believe the Bible is multi-layered. In Chapt 2-3 of Revelation, I believe there are multi-layered ways of seeing what is going on. One of them is what you are saying. The seven churches represent the different churches as well as believers that are around at any time.

Another "layer" or facet, is seeing the seven churches as an amazing prophecy for the 2000 years to come from the time John had the vision. It's amazing how you can historically map each church age and the resulting condition of the world, all the way up to the present. When you read what Jesus says to the Laodiceans, it a a very good description of the world in general today - one that has rejected God and Jesus is outside knocking on the door.

I believe we are at the end of the age. Although all seven churches can be seen present today, I also believe the prevailing condition of the church and world overall, is how Jesus characterized Laodicea which is the last church age listed.

Didn’t you hear the latest? The Sanhedrin paid off the guards to steal the body from the tomb. It must be true. The 200 prophecies fulfilled from the Old Testament were falsified.
