It's a great thought that someone such as me gets a shot at the Kingdom even thought I seem to have failed one more time than succeeded at getting on the right path. I hope Jesus was telling us how his Father looks at these things i.e. I hope he is willing to forgive 70 x 7 times.

I may be guilty of judging, and that might be one more thing where I need that forgiveness. I surely hate the idea of being judged by those standards I have applied to others from time to time.

The words of Jesus are quite clear on this:

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 6:14-15

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Matthew 7:1-2

The bottom line is that we are to trust God to take care of these things. When we judge others, we are effectively saying that we don't trust God to see it and resolve it the way we think it should be done. But the good news is that we still have the opportunity to clean up our past by repenting for our past judgments, turning them over to Him, and declaring our trust in Him to resolve them in the way He sees fit. The truth of the matter is that we don't have full information on anything. But God does.
