If I was Jesus, I’m thinking I would avoid buildings that had a caricature of me hanging from a cross.
I don’t see Jesus on the cross in the vast majority of Protestant churches. That is a Roman Catholic thing.

I'm not a big fan of that either. Nor statues. Some people are so accustomed to the accessories (along with their rosary beads),rituals and the experience they get from it that I wonder what they would do in a church like Jesus had in His day.
Which is worse, to have a “caricature” of Jesus hanging from a cross on the building where you worship or to have a caricature of Jesus in your heart/mind?
I have a “caricature” of Jesus hanging from a cross in my living room. It has the virtue of representing something scriptural, foundational, and true, and reminds me of that every day. 1 Corinthians 1 and 2.
