People need more discernment and to validate what they are experiencing through and based on Scripture, not some kind of emotional experience.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
There is a real danger of deception in the church when people simply accept at face value anything that anyone says is from God or by God.
"I have a word from the Lord...." is all some people need to hear to completely throw caution to the wind and accept anything some self-proclaimed prophet has to say. They swallow the whole thing without questioning because they don't want to be found fighting God and don't even stop to consider that the prince of the power of the air, can do wonders and signs.
I don't doubt your friend experienced something.
I DO doubt it was from God.

Immortalization for a Melchizedek Priesthood? The church is never going to be a Melchizedek Priesthood because this is not God’s intention for the church- Jesus ALONE is the God man, this why the Bible teaches he is the “only begotten Son of God.” The Melchisedek Priesthood has only one priest- that is Jesus Christ and Him alone, for it is an eternal priesthood with Him as its priest forever. The 5 fold ministry is found in Eph.4:11 and there is no priesthood mentioned, it is about equipping the church. It is apparent that what Jones’ teaches is inserting his own ideas into passages to promote his own agenda- Latter Rain.
Lot's of folks seem to have had these kinds of 'encounters'.

Sorry to break the bad news, but he was not a prophet.
God is right 100% of the time. If He appoints a man to be a prophet for Him, He will never tell that prophet anything that is wrong.
So, if a man calls himself a prophet from God, everything He tells you that will happen will happen. If he is wrong even just one time, he is not from God.
Bob Jones may have been a good man, but he was no prophet from God. Sorry, but God is NEVER wrong.

The Charismatics these days teach that New Testament prophecy is “different” from the Old. They can be “wrong” now, so they claim. LOL
There’s a group in Syracuse that has *Healing Rooms* and they have a disclaimer they have emailed out explaining why prophecies don’t always come to pass as prophesied.
I wish I could find it but could not on their website.
