Interesting, isn’t it?
When it’s alternate dimensions, it’s cutting edge scientific theory.
When it’s heaven and hell, it’s ignorant superstition.
When it’s ET’s, it’s granted SETI funding.
When it’s angels and demons, it’s mythology and folktales.
When it’s the physical, natural, material world, it’s reality.
If it can’t bee seen, felt, or measured, it’s not *real*.
I guess that rules out the mind, intellect, emotions, will, appreciation of beauty, enjoyment of music, etc.
Of course the spiritual world is a reality. All you have to do is encounter it once and you KNOW.
Wow, I like the way you put that.
Good point all.
Great post. I’m one of those who ‘knows’.
“If it cant bee seen, felt, or measured, its not *real*.”
which is exactly why psychology is not viewed as a science by so many “scientists.”
Interesting thing though, psychology (except for neurospsychology or biologicalpsychology) is studied by watching and testing, asking questions, or reading the writings of the person being studied. Just like people get to know God, who has a personality and we get to know Him the same way we know other people.
