The story of St. Pauls conversion is told repeatedly in the New Testament, three times in the Acts of the Apostles and then, briefly, in Pauls own correspondence with the Galatians and Corinthians. In all of history, no other conversion gets that kind of special coverage, with God himself as primary author of the narrative!

The Damascus Road is one many of us lesser beings found ourselves on, before being blinded by the Truth.
Pauline doctrine is foundational to the Christian Church.
There were other adversarial converts in the Old Testament; none of whom went on to do what Saul of Tarsus did...
Wretched being that I am.

Our patron, St. Paul, isnt any ordinary saint. Hes a singularity. Hes unique. And the Church calendar reflects the extraordinary role he played in Gods revelation. It was he who brought the Gospel to the world beyond Israel the Gentiles. Hes credited as author of more than half the books of the New Testament, and it was under Pauls tutelage that Luke composed his Gospel and Acts. The Apostle to the Gentiles gets not one but two feasts on the Churchs Western calendar. In June he shares a feast with St. Peter, with whom he died as a martyr as they consecrated Rome with their blood.
O St. Paul, the Apostle, preacher of truth and Doctor of the Gentiles, intercede for us to God, who chose you.
So now Paul is the apostle to the Gentiles after all? Who ever would have thought?

Abraham seems to get a lot of ink throughout Scripture, even the Roman Catholic bible.
In other-words your dear apologist is fracturing Scripture to present HIS faulty conclusion.

Entrust your intention to St. Paul and offer the following prayer. O St. Paul, the Apostle, preacher of truth and Doctor of the Gentiles, intercede for us to God, who chose you. You are a vessel of election, O St. Paul the Apostle, preacher of truth to the whole world. O God, you have instructed many nations through the preaching of the blessed apostle Paul. Let the power of his intercession with you help us who venerate his memory this day. Imagine what Paul would have specifically said had he known people would have PRAYED TO him when he had departed this earth. Or had asked for his intercession with God with Christ reigning. The Epistle to the Catholics.

Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
Mat 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
Mat 23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
Mat 23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. Luk 20:46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
Luk 20:47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
All one has to do is look...It couldn't be any more clear...
This is not the church of the New Testament...
Act 10:25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
Act 10:26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

The Apostle Paul and King David are my two favorite Bible authors.
Both flawed superheros, like Moses and Peter.

Paul is to grace as Moses was to the law. Both received their commission by direct revelation of God, face to face and mouth to mouth. Both were directed to take their revelations directly to the people. Moses to Israel and Paul to the Gentiles. From God to Moses to Israel. And from God to Paul to the Gentiles. Moses' revelations from God looked forward to Israel's Redeemer, and Israel's future work as a nation of priests and a blessing to all nations. Paul's revelations from God looked backward to the cross, where Christ's finished work was proclaimed to him for the remission of all our sins.
And yet, Paul is so often mocked, discounted or disparaged among people who "claim" to understand grace and this age we are living in. He never claimed to be one of the 12, he claimed to be apart from the 12. The ministry of the 12 came from the law, the prophets, Christ, and the kingdom gospel, of which they will rule on that day Christ returns as Messiah and sets up the kingdom that was promised them. Paul never promised Israel a kingdom. He promised that Jews and Gentiles are made one, in the body of Christ and our position is not earthly, like Israel, but heavenly. Paul could not have been lumped together with the 12 as his calling was different.
