When I remember the beautiful outpourings that characterized Christmas at Walter Reed before they closed the old base and consolidated CommieCare of our wounded, I am horrified. There were decorations, several tall trees, huge gingerbread castles, and one year the Waterford crystal factory in Ireland that makes our New Year’s Ball for Times Square sent a 7 foot crystal chandelier that looked like a Christmas tree when set up in the lobby of one of the recovery residences. Every year, three tour busloads of NYC firemen and their family members came down to DC to visit the wounded — two buses for the people, and one bus full of gifts. One year they also brought a children’s carol choir with them.

The fact is, there are only a miniscule number of troops who do not recognize Christmas as a national holiday for merrymaking — chiefly a handful of muslim interpreters who were born in the U.S. and served our country, and presumably the inevitable few atheists. Try as I might, having been raised in a Jewish neighborhood and always enjoying the company of Jews, I cannot remember meeting any Jewish troops in the current (non-draft) corps that we met in the 7 years the DCChapter volunteers served at Walter Reed, and there is nothing wrong with that, either. So where is the animus towards Christianity coming from? From the White House and Pentagon.

So many things including all you wrote is taking place in this Republic, that confirm that pre-election statement the British Kenyan Subject made. "Fundamental Change".
And masses of people within the low information upward into the elite far left simply do not see anything wrong with what is going on.

consolidated CommieCare of our wounded,

My son is based near where most of it happens now, and I assure you, he's no Communist. But you're quite right in that he describes the troops with which he serves as quite conservative indeed, both politically and in terms of their Christmas traditions.

This is outrageous. Christmas is a federal holiday, officially recognized by our government.

What you describe sounds like it would have brought cheer to the wounded vets at a time when they would be the most demoralized: being away from family at Christmas. What they experienced this year seems to have been terribly depressing. It's shameful that the top brass hasn't told Obama and Hagel to take a hike and allow the vets to have some joy at this special time of year. Yes, it probably would be a career ender to do that, but aren't some things more important than another star?
