This special season has greater importance for the Latter-day Saints than for others because we not only observe the birthday of the Savior but also the birthday of our Prophet, Joseph Smith.
Joseph Smith, the great Prophet chosen by our Heavenly Father to usher in the last dispensation, was born on December 23, 1805, just two days before December 25, which the world observes as the birthday of Jesus Christ.
December 23 should be a day of great importance in every Latter-day Saint home, a day of remembering and honoring one of the great prophets of God, a day to pay tribute to a man whose life and mission has had a tremendous influence on the lives of every one of us.

I'm sure a bright boy like you knows "slander" involves telling a lie about someone.
Show us the lie that is being told about mormonism, if you're capable.
If you find a little good, I guess you accept the big bad that comes along with it.
Not a strategy I'd employ, but then; I'm not a deceived Mormon.
Jimt and his one-note band will now play caroles for our enjoyment.
Iff'n y'all WANT one of these, we CAN drop one off at CHRISTMAS!
Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.
When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Matthew 2:7-11
See that? Just seeing the star filled these men with joy. I pray that God remove judgment from your hearts and replace it with utmost joy, in the precious name of Christ, Lord Jesus.
Amen to everything you said. And Merry Christmas!

DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
SECTION 71
Revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet and Sidney Rigdon, at Hiram, Ohio, December 1, 1831. HC 1: 238239. The Prophet had continued to translate the Bible with Sidney Rigdon as his scribe until this revelation was received, at which time it was temporarily laid aside so as to enable them to fulfill the instruction given herein. The brethren were to go forth to preach in order to allay the unfriendly feelings that had developed against the Church as a result of the publication of some newspaper articles by Ezra Booth, who had apostatized.
14, Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon are sent forth to proclaim the gospel; 511, Enemies of the saints shall be confounded.
1 Behold, thus saith the Lord unto you my servants Joseph Smith, Jun., and Sidney Rigdon, that the time has verily come that it is necessary and expedient in me that you should open your mouths in proclaiming my gospel, the things of the kingdom, expounding the mysteries thereof out of the scriptures, according to that portion of Spirit and power which shall be given unto you, even as I will.
2 Verily I say unto you, proclaim unto the world in the regions round about, and in the church also, for the space of a season, even until it shall be made known unto you.
3 Verily this is a mission for a season, which I give unto you.
4 Wherefore, labor ye in my vineyard. Call upon the inhabitants of the earth, and bear record, and prepare the way for the commandments and revelations which are to come.
5 Now, behold this is wisdom; whoso readeth, let him understand and receive also;
6 For unto him that receiveth it shall be given more abundantly, even power.
7 Wherefore, confound your enemies; call upon them to meet you both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their shame shall be made manifest.
8 Wherefore, let them bring forth their strong reasons against the Lord.
9 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto youthere is no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper;
10 And if any man lift his voice against you he shall be confounded in mine own due time.
11 Wherefore, keep my commandments; they are true and faithful. Even so. Amen.

I’ll pray some more.
C'mon Hoodat. (You're not that obtuse)
It's precisely because Mormonism disrespects, disses and dismisses Jesus and too oft' replaces Him with Joseph Smith THIS TIME OF THE YEAR that this is indeed the perfect timing to address it.
If Mormonism did that more -- say, in August...I'd post about it then. But they've gone out of their way to do this more in December thru the years. I've documented that on these series of posts.
So, I've noted you're not upset with the real original December provocateurs on this...just me because I've actually responded within the same month they tend to promote Joseph Smith in favor of the Christ child. Well, so be it. Continue the flak toward me -- and the heretics can simply continue to have their way with the spiritually vulnerable and gullible.
...judgment from your hearts
Hoodat, did it ever dawn on you that when you accuse somebody else of being "judgmental" -- you yourself are making a "judgmental" assessment? (So where do I get that platform of yours that allows you to judge others -- without coming across as judging others?)
Btw, you call it "judging"...I call it exercising spiritual discernment.
Are you inferring that I am a drinker? I am in no way a drinker.
(and that's rarely a good thing)
Yet all of that is sanctioned by posters like you...because apparently many don't raise a peep to the Mormon Church about that. (Why not?)
Only, and religiously hypocritically on your part, is some zeal apparently objectionable.
Secondly, Lds spend MILLIONS of man-hours researching the dead & $millions in doing that -- and baptizing the dead...and you call this little "back room" operation of a few bucks "obsessive?" (You're hilarious on that count)
Finally, for the Son of God to take on baby form and dirty his diapers...all so that we would be saved by this Immanuel...and that He still is both God and man even now in eternity...now that's the kind of obsession we can all in this world appreciate: A God who actually is so jealous of us -- in the best sense of the word -- that He would send His Son to become man and die for us on the cross.
"14 Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God" (Exodus 34:14)
The root Hebrew words, btw, for "jealous" and "zealous" are the same.
And God's jealousy isn't tainted like man's; He has a right to creative ownership of us.
Merry CHRISTmas!
So you’re a defender of Joseph Smith.
Well, when you go to Hell, make sure you have a mouth full of spit, because when you meet him in the lake of fire, he’s going to be thirsty.
Wrong again, n00b
