MARIAVITES
A Polish sectarian group founded by Father Kowalski, a priest of Warsaw, and Felicia Kozlowska, a Tertiary sister in 1906. The group was excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church for doctrinal reasons, based on certain revelations of Felicia Kozlowska. Professing great devotion to the Blessed Virgin, the group was for a time united with the Old Catholics, from whom the founder received episcopal ordination. They are mainly concentrated in the eastern part of the United States.
