WASHINGTON - Americans hoping for an end to the gridlock that's caused a partial government shutdown have an option aside from protesting and rallying in front of the Capitol, according to U.S. Senate Chaplain Barry Black.
They can pray.

I want to know one thing and one thing only about Chaplin Barry Black?
Is he pro life, does he attend a ALL Black democrat NON Christian Church, does he support the murder of God`s unborn Children etc?
If he votes Democrat and attends a ALL Black liberal Church then he is NOT pro life or even a Christian
So before I fall for all this wonderful Barry Black stuff ,I need to know this

Yes,I'm a big Flannery O'Connor fan. I use her pithier sayings all the time with my RCIA students. E.g.:
...
"Mystery isn't something that is gradually evaporating. It grows along with knowledge."
...
"She would of been a good woman, The Misfit said, if it had been somebody there to shoot her every minute of her life."
...
"Everywhere I go, I'm asked if I think the universities stifle writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a best seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher.
...
"The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it."

No, I am staying put here.
God does give us free will.
As long as you believe in God, that is all that matters.

you might come to an understanding why things happen in this life as they do.
Why don't you enlighten me? Explain all the human pain and suffering over the centuries, especially the 20th.

So I see that Barry Black is a 7th day Adventist , says he believes in the Bible so his politics are deeply held
How could you believe in the Bible and vote Democrat
Yes I know he was appointed by GW Bush, but that does not mean he could still not be a Democrat.
Surely he knows that his latest remarks of past days have been embraced by the left as attacks on Republicans, and he has said nothing to change that view
He attended rally for Trayvon Martin
So it`s unclear if he voted for Obama, I tried to find out through google
Came across long interview with C Span Brian Lamb, but he never asked him right out.
His answer about believing in God, so of course I have deep felt political views, that would suggest that he was atleast trying to give impression that he was conservative?
I want to know if he voted for Obama
To: Breto
It is never too late to ask for forgiveness. singular or collective.
To: ArmyBratproud
I believe that George W Bush was the POTUS in 2003. Seven Day Adventist tend to be Republicans.
To: Biggirl
True, but I think the senate chaplain had a different agenda.

God’s purposes sometimes includes giving us just what we want so we can see how stupid and/or self-center we really are. Just look at ObamaCare.

I stopped praying years ago. God must be sleeping.

Be careful what you pray for - you just might get it!

What if God's purpose is to punish the nation (In the Chaplain's case by "praying" for agreement to set a course full speed ahead on dangerous overspending and tyrannical as well as un-Biblical laws) for refusing as a whole to listen/embrace/abide by His Word? Nice sentiment but first the good Chaplain should start with asking Senators to repent from sin first (Plenty there and being their Chaplain/Spiritual council would be able to point those hindrances out to the members of that body of government), then seek a beneficial "purpose" from God. Secondary causes are allowed to set there own paths, whether that is for good or bad; they also have the opportunity to vote in this country for their Representatives (Not many in the past and present have this freedom), all God does now is allows us to reap what we sow as individuals and as a Nation until a desired time frame to wrap up this temporal period on Earth which will get a lot worse than this slowdown (Oh wait, only a minor shutdown with pay for non-essentials, lol). As a Nation we are spoiled and with that, increasing erosion from faith, corruption and the lack of prosperous stewardship over the land. Heck, what was the response the Chaplain received in the pop-culture circuit? The response should tell you right there what "purpose" we are heading to.
ONLY the innocent will suffer in the years to come. God will do nothing to stop the evil dictators and their soulless goons. The future of America is a gigantic pile of dead and dying children. Obama-like vermin will drink happily.

In years to come, there may instead be a revolt and a big one at that.

I'm not betting on it. American is no longer the "home of the brave". Even conservatives will eventually grovel at the feet of the Democrats.
To: Wanderer99
I am much more confident that what I predict will come true.
