Anna Romano, 35, couldnt believe her ears when she picked up the phone a few days ago. On the other end of the telephone was Pope Francis himself, who called to offer to baptize her baby after she refused to have an abortion.
I was just so surprised that he had telephoned me. He said that he had read my letter and he wanted to speak to me personally about it and reassure me that someone was worried about me, Anna, hailing from Arezzo near Florence, told the Daily Mail.
Feeling humiliated, betrayed, and that she had no one else to turn to, Anna wrote to Pope Francis a few months ago about her crisis situation. She revealed that she was pregnant with the child of an already married man who had demanded she abort.
In her letter, Anna told the Pope that she would not have an abortion and that she had told the married man to get out of my life.
Anna never dreamed of a reply. Then, when she was on holiday, she received the surprising call.
During the call, Pope Francis reassured Anna that a child was a gift from God, a sign of Divine Providence and that she would never be left alone, Anna remembered.
When Anna told the Pope that she desired baptism for her baby but was afraid that her divorce and her being a single mom would be an obstacle, the Pope said that he would be her spiritual father and would baptize the baby himself.
Anna said that if the baby the Pope baptizes is a boy, then she will name him Francis.

Exactly...
Christians for 1600 years knew that Peter was the Rock. Then the heretics came...
My wife agrees with you.The Bible does also.
-— I think Pope Francis is showing himself to not be as insular as his predecessor. I am not Catholic, but I am impressed by him, and his way to deal with people on an individual basis. ——
Same Spirit, different gifts. Pope Benedict was more of an intellectual. Pope Francis is more of a Francisan.
The current pope’s style is non-traditional, but refreshing and invigorating.
-— It is clear about man with man. -—
The Church’s teaching is clear, and the pope didn’t contradict it. His remarks were misinterpreted. He was distinguishing between the sinner and the sin.
—— He did say, And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Jesus is the rock! The chief cornerstone. Not Peter. -—
Jesus said this after changing Simon’s name to Rock, or Kepha in Aramaic.
God’s action of changing a name always signified something of great significance.
I thought the very same about the judgmentalism myself! I’ve seen a lot of good in Pope Francis - and I’m not Catholic either.
Thanks. The news must have been wrong. I had never heard a Pope welcome gays as the Bible is crystal clear about and man.
Now, the Pope did say to gays-”Who am I to judge.”Many catholics have a problem with that plus gay priests.” I worry about the forced tolerance of things that are not judeao christian and are merely anti christian. This country was founded by those seeking religious freedom plus freedom from European Gov’s. We have had the very moral, religious, and legal structures that our forefathers so highly valued almost destroyed by the far left from attacks on the traditional family to throwing God out of public and crosses out. We have already seen much that our nation’s founders held so dear questioned by the left and this Pres. Many things have changed and our Pres has had 5 IFTAR dinners at the White House.
God bless Pope Francis!
Winner with a correct answer!
“Who am I to judge.
Hate the sin, love the sinner.
What a hateful thing to post so openly, revealing what is in your heart better than months of posts defending Catholicism.
I believe it was freeper Diamond who offered the following cogent instruction:
15 Jesus saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? 16 Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:15-18 Douay- Rheims, Catholic Bible)When Jesus talks about "this rock" he is not referring to Peter, but instead Peter's confession of faith in the preceding verses. Jesus isn't jumping from one subject (that He is the Christ) to another (primacy of Peter). It is a continuation of the same subject - who do people believe that Christ is. If you look at the following verse 20 you can see that Jesus has not changed subject because he is commanding them not to reveal that He is the Christ.
Jesus thus does not declare the primacy of Peter, but rather declares that his church will be built upon the foundation of the revelation of and confession of faith of Jesus as the Christ. The "rock" gentlemen is our faith in Christ. (posted by Between the Lines) ...
[That was so well stated that I would only add, 'faith' is an action word, as in 'to faithe' in the delivering Power and Grace of God through Jesus Christ in the person of the Holy Spirit indwelling the faither.]

One method of Hermeneutical understanding of Matthew 16:18 is to do a word study of all the scriptures which were then known as the Holy Word of G-d when Y'shua spoke these words. This will allow one to understand that all of the Holy Word of G-d was inspired by YHvH; the whole counsel of G-d.The only conclusion that one can come to unless you are predisposed to believe in man's tradition over the Holy Word of G-d is that Y'shua was speaking of himself as the "Rock " e.g.
Genesis 49:24 But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed [Or archers will attack...will shoot...will remain...will stay] supple, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,
Deuteronomy 32:3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock , his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
Deuteronomy 32:15 ..... He abandoned the God who made him and rejected the Rock his Saviour.
Deuteronomy 32:30 How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?
Deuteronomy 32:31 For their rock is not like our Rock , as even our enemies concede
Deuteronomy 32:32 Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are filled with poison, and their clusters with bitterness.
1 Samuel 2:2 "There is no-one holy [Or no Holy One] like the LORD; there is no-one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.

2 Samuel 22:3 my God is my Rock , in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn [Horn here symbolises strength.] of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my saviour from violent men you save me.

If the Catholics teach this, that is the shame in the story. If not, then she is just another poorly catechized Cino.
—— Now, the Pope did say to gays-Who am I to judge. ——
When the pope reiterates Jesus’ words, he means them in the sense that the Church believes Christ meant, that we are not to judge the soul of a person, while we can, and must, judge actions themselves.
For example, while sodomy is inherently evil, there can exist circumstances wherein a man who engages in sodomy is not guilty of personal sin.
Only the victim if said was tied down, held and violated against His will is innocent.
Only the victim if said was tied down, held and violated against His will is innocent.
If a man was repeatedly sodomized as a child, or raised by homosexuals, his culpability could be mitigated. There may be other mitigating circumstances.
Legal excuses and victimization do not justify sodomizing another. Does my or anyone’s killing in war justify killing you? But; I was trained to do it? I think not! I think we had best quit making excuses about we learned this and therefore. We have laws and need to obey them. We know right and wrong.
