The assault on Americas churches has begun, with commentators like Dylan Matthews of the Washington Post and Matthew Yglesias of Slate calling on the government to tax churches. Whichever faith you think is the one true faith, its undeniable that the majority of this church-spending is going to support false doctrines, Yglesias wrote on Thursday. He added, upgrading a churchs physical plant doesnt enhance the soul-saving capacity of its clergy.
This is part of the new assault on religion in America that has seen its apex in the New Mexico Supreme Court decision to force religious photographers to cover same-sex weddings, and the California legislatures bill that would strip non-profit status from any religious organization that discriminates on the basis of factors including religion or sexual orientation. The fundamental basis for this assault lies in the lefts core belief that religion in America is a net negative, and that the state has no interest whatsoever in forwarding the religion broadly throughout the country. Yglesias theory that religions are mutually exclusive misses the point Judeo-Christian religion fosters morality among members of the public. The founders understood that truth, Americans historically understood that truth, and the left wishes to undermine that truth. Separation of church and state, according to the left, means that the state not only must be banned from fostering religion of any sorts, but that the state must override private religious practice on behalf of secularism.
The Posts Matthews quickly followed up on Yglesias piece by suggesting that Americans are dupes for handing their charitable contributions over to their churches.....

These people are confused. The doctrine of separation of church and state is not just about keeping the church from using the power of government to foist itself on the people; it is also about keeping the government from using its power against the church.
Of course, these people may not be confused at all. They may well be wanting to use the power of government to remove the church as a independent institution and make it subservient to the state. Totalitarians of all stripes (Nazis, Communists, etc.) do this as a matter of course.
Of course... Just a combination of our Muslim leadership leading us to the slaughter and the knowledge that moving against mosques would get them killed.
It’s Time For Activisim
If FR’s really want to do somethibng about this.Church goers and true believers should start up your printers and when you go to services print up a batch and tuck a copy of the summary provided by 2nd Div vet under the windshield wipers in the church parking lot. Likewise pass em out in your precinct.
If “separation of Church and State” is to be the law of the land then it has to work both ways. Taxing the church is a violation of the constitution.
Judas thought the same way.
Hey, Jeff Bezos is doing a great job with the Post. Kinda makes you want to boycott Amazon.
Yes. It would also sober up a lot of priests and pastors.
If I were 'forced' to photograph a wedding or bake a cake for one, it would be truly memorable. Nothing in focus, heads cut off, etc. The cake would be inedible, and have the scent of homosexual sex.
Charity.
The only time and money and items I give in charity are ones that I KNOW I CAN CONTROL.
That means through my church. People that I know get help with utility bills during unemployment, food, clothing for children etc. Through Children’s Ministry I learn of kids that I can help support decent, moral activities for them to be involved in.
The other way in give is through service and help for veterans. But not through Government or National organizations. Through biker rides to directly support 2 VA Hospitals. Through the Patriot Guard to assist and honor veterans and families at passing. Through sponsored biker events to assist wounded warriors get into homes that allow them some mobility. I give thousands of dollars of cash time and items each year. I KNOW that it directly helps people in my Community. The money that the Government takes from me goes to help pay for abortion (I was adopted) help muslims in Countries that are killing our soldiers etc.
If Christians won’t save their own children from the ungodly teaching the children are indoctrinated into every day at school, their masters know they won’t stand up for the freedom of their churches, either. Lazy, weak Christians are no witnesses to Jesus and value “peace” over their faith.
The clause Separation of Church and State was in the Soviet Constitution, not the US Constitution.
I don’t think Bezos has control there, yet.
I boycotted Amazon a long time ago when I found out that they supported Planned Parenthood.
