Some Mormons Search the Web and Find Doubt

In the small but cohesive Mormon community where he grew up, Hans Mattsson was a solid believer and a pillar of the church. He followed his father and grandfather into church leadership and finally became an area authority overseeing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout Europe
When fellow believers in Sweden first began coming to him with information from the Internet that contradicted the churchs history and teachings, he dismissed it as anti-Mormon propaganda, the whisperings of Lucifer. He asked his superiors for help in responding to the members doubts, and when they seemed to only sidestep the questions, Mr. Mattsson began his own investigation.

As I travel in circles with my wife people assume I'm a Mormon.
.

.
I hear snide remarks about Christianity all the time. I'll bet you do!

I would have told her “Great! I’m looking for a drinking buddy.”

“I have never known a more Christian woman than her. You can say what you like but if you look in Websters Dictionary under the definition of Christian, one of the listings will be my wifes name.”
It sounds like you married well. :-)
Criticism of mormonism as a false religion is not a criticism of the character of your wife.
A Christian faith should result in a well-lived life.
A well-lived life does always reflect a belief in the truth.
When my own kids were very young, I loved when they played with the two kids of the Hare Krishna couple down the street. They were very nice people. Not Christian, but lived life well.

This humiliating zot will *dog* him for a long time.
I’m just glad someone managed to collar him.

The Jewish people were the first to hear God. Dang! I always had thought it was Adam!
Well, let's grasp at straws here and narrow the whole thing down to the promise of salvation - how about Abram?

For an official resource; this sounds like FAIRLDS or FARMS wrote it! Sounds like a NY Times or Washington Post article after the White House vets it.

We’ll just never know if his bark was worse than his bite, I guess.

Oh, come on.
Every Israel or Jewish-interest thread attracts the same 5 or 6 Pat Buchanon kill-the-Joos crazy posters.
You’ve been here long enough to see it.

I don’t know if you or your wife is going to hell, but I do know that the Mormon additions to Christianity are just a re-hash of gnostic mystery religion passing off the “secrets” of my fraternity (freemasonry — and that’s all it is, a fraternal order dedicated to public works) as secret knowledge to gain entry into heaven.
Religion and God are hard and confusing enough without people layering on a bunch of gobbleygook for personal profit and power, like Joe Smith did.

You are correct in that FR does have some crazies (present company excluded), but my complaint with your post was the word ‘every’.

Very nicely stated: The Jewish people were the first to hear God. They are the elder brethren of the Christians. They are the vine that Christians are grafted in on.
