The e-mail went out this morning:
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops welcomes Kim Daniels on board as spokesperson for the president of the USCCB, Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
Daniels brings to the USCCB her experience as director of Catholic Voices USA, an organization of lay Catholics that works to bring the positive message of the Church across a broad range of issues to the public square. She is also an attorney whose practice has focused on religious liberty matters. Daniels and her husband have six children and are active members of their parish in the Archdiocese of Washington. She is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Chicago Law School.
Talking Points Memo mentioned her in a piece they did three years ago:
Paid $21,000 by Palins PAC in the second half of 2009, Daniels is a Maryland attorney who, according to the Times, prepares a daily briefing for Palin.
Daniels has been identified as an attorney with the Thomas More Law Center....

Since you don't accidentally hire someone who worked for Gov. Sarah Palin, it seems that Cardinal Dolan just slapped Barry in the face.

WT*? Why does a Cardinale Sanctae Romanae Ecclesiae need with a
spokesperson?
He is supposed to preach the gospel in season and out. He needs to rely upon the Holy Spirit...not upon somebody to shape a media message.
Playing footsie with pro-abortion, pro-homosexual politicians at a mega-dollar dinner fundraiser ain't it.
He just needs to show some cajones as he walks through the shadow of the valley of death.
This.
Ain't.
It.

"He is supposed to preach the gospel in season and out. He needs to rely upon the Holy Spirit...not upon somebody to shape a media message." This is a battle fought by patriots and the Thomas More Law Center is an organization of patriots. Kim Daniels is one of those patriots. We are fighting the freedom from truth that is pursued by the Left. Cardinal Timothy Dolan is fighting for the truth and will put on his team those who will help him.
Cardinal Dolan is also a patriot.
See this must-see video and you will understand.

Hmmm. Maybe he just hired that spine that NYer has been posting all these years?

Hmmm. Maybe he just hired that spine that NYer has been posting all these years? sadly, I think you're probably closer than anything. A surrogate set of cajones.
Having said that, who knows, maybe she may replace Sister Mary Ann Walsh. She's got to be near retirement age. So it might not be all bad.

A surrogate set of cajones. No doubt that a proLife Catholic lawyer for TMLC and mother is six could teach the average USCCB lackey a thing or two about the subject.
To: eCSMaster
Will she continue to be associated with Palin in some way?Likely not in the professional sense. She'll have plenty to do working for the USCCB.

She’s being hired by the USCCB, of which Cardinal Dolan is the Chairman, so she will be the spokesperson for the Cardinal when he’s doing the business of the Conference. This is not the same as his personal ministry.

Spoksperson is a policy job; not a 40 hour / week drugery.
I’m sure she will continue to do many things.
