Young women, their mothers and leaders recently participated in the annual Young Women meeting in the Conference Center and in thousands of meetinghouses across the world. The Churchs Young Women organization provides instruction, encouragement and support in living the gospel of Jesus Christ for teenage girls ages 12 to 17.

The Young Women program emphasizes eight values faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity and virtue each represented by a different color, as in these flags...

What are these 8? A woman's...
individual worth
her knowledge
her choice(s) & accountability
her good works
her integrity
her virtue
her faith
Sounds pretty good so far...what about the OTHER "value"?
That value happens to be her supposed inherent "divine nature"
Yup. Mormonism is the most respectable New Age-like "cult there is..." Teaching 12 yo they are mini-gods!
From an Lds.org Relief Society chapter detail lesson: It is for the exaltation of man to this state of superior intelligence and Godhead that the mediation and atonement of Jesus Christ is instituted; and that noble being, man, made in the image of God, is rendered capable not only of being a son of man, but also a son of God,
and is rendered capable of becoming a God, possessing the power, the majesty, the exaltation and the position of a God

You can also see how this same "I am divine" aspect is stressed according to this ex-Mormon, ex-Relief Society participant, ex-Young Women's class participant: I Was a Mormon: Tara Sivulka
So, Dieter, you are helping to indoctrinate young LDS women into believing that they have a divine nature. Interesting.
You are now, what, about 72 years old? As a former commercial pilot and airline executive you must be very familiar with numbers, probability, actuarial tables, etc. Consulting such tables, you must be well aware that you are not too many years away from flight testing your hypotheses, that is to say, whether they will fly or will, as Daedalus, simply come crashing to earth (or worse). That is to say, you are 5 to 20 years away from seeing whether the divine nature you theorize regarding the young ladies of the LDS, and teach, publicly and openly, as truth revealed by “heavenly Father,” as opposed to THE Father in heaven who is confessed in the three ecumenical creeds - notice how LDS’ers always leave off the definite article “the” from “heavenly Father,” it is a cultic thing - is actually true. Wouldn’t it be quite a surprise - unpleasant, to be sure! - Dieter, great pilot and executive that you are, to discover that the “divine nature” you so confidently adjure the young ladies of the LDS to believe and trust as being resident in themselves is not in accord with the will, intent, and reality of the Father in heaven who so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son?
Fool.
And now they are demanding a change to the doctrine of priesthood, they women want in.
I am a Mormon and I am a Democrat and I am divine
Thanks Colofornian for your faithfulness in getting out the truth about Mormonism.
They sure seem to be a happy lot! NOT!
Yeah; I've seen it; and it is as good as etched in STONE!!!
16, Exaltation is gained through the new and everlasting covenant; 714, The terms and conditions of that covenant are set forth; 1520, Celestial marriage and a continuation of the family unit enable men to become gods; 2125, The strait and narrow way leads to eternal lives; 2627, The law is given relative to blasphemy against the Holy Ghost; 2839, Promises of eternal increase and exaltation are made to prophets and Saints in all ages; 4047, Joseph Smith is given the power to bind and seal on earth and in heaven; 4850, The Lord seals upon him his exaltation; 5157, Emma Smith is counseled to be faithful and true; 5866, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.
16Therefore, when they are out of the world they neither marry nor are given in amarriage; but are appointed angels in bheaven, which angels are ministering cservants, to minister for those who are worthy of a far more, and an exceeding, and an eternal weight of glory.
17For these angels did not abide my law; therefore, they cannot be enlarged, but remain separately and singly, without exaltation, in their saved condition, to all eternity; and from henceforth are not gods, but are aangels of God forever and ever.
18And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife, and make a covenant with her for time and for all eternity, if that acovenant is not by me or by my word, which is my law, and is not sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, through him whom I have anointed and appointed unto this power, then it is not valid neither of force when they are out of the world, because they are not joined by me, saith the Lord, neither by my word; when they are out of the world it cannot be received there, because the angels and the gods are appointed there, by whom they cannot pass; they cannot, therefore, inherit my glory; for my house is a house of order, saith the Lord God.
19And again, verily I say unto you, if a man amarry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and beverlasting covenant, and it is csealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of dpromise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have appointed this power and the ekeys of this priesthood; and it shall be said unto themYe shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit fthrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depthsthen shall it be written in the Lambs gBook of Life, that he shall commit no hmurder whereby to shed innocent iblood, and if ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their jexaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of the kseeds forever and ever.
20 Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from aeverlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be bgods, because they have call power, and the angels are subject unto them.
21Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye abide my alaw ye cannot attain to this glory.
22For astrait is the gate, and narrow the bway that leadeth unto the exaltation and continuation of the clives, and few there be that find it, because ye receive me not in the world neither do ye know me.
23But if ye receive me in the world, then shall ye know me, and shall receive your exaltation; that awhere I am ye shall be also.
24This is aeternal livesto bknow the only wise and true God, and Jesus Christ, whom he hath csent. I am he. Receive ye, therefore, my law.
25aBroad is the gate, and wide the way that leadeth to the bdeaths; and many there are that go in thereat, because they creceive me not, neither do they abide in my law.

THOSE ARE NOT MORMONS!!!!!
*The following is a letter from Elder Lance B. Wickman, General Counsel of the Church to publishers of major newspapers, TV stations and magazines. It was sent out on Tuesday, June 24, 2008.
Recent events have focused the media spotlight on a polygamous sect near San Angelo, Texas, calling itself the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As you probably know, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has absolutely no affiliation with this polygamous sect. Decades ago, the founders of that sect rejected the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were excommunicated, and then started their own religion. To the best of our knowledge, no one at the Texas compound has ever been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Unfortunately, however, some of the media coverage of the recent events in Texas has caused members of the public to confuse the doctrines and members of that group and our church. We have received numerous inquiries from confused members of the public who, by listening to less than careful media reports, have come to a grave misunderstanding about our respective doctrines and faith. Based on these media reports many have erroneously concluded that there is some affiliation between the two or even worse, that they are one and the same.
Over the years, in a careful effort to distinguish itself, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has gone to significant lengths to protect its rights in the name of the church and related matters. Specifically, we have obtained registrations for the name The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mormon, Book of Mormon and related trade and service marks from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and corresponding agencies in a significant number of foreign countries.
We are confident that you are committed to avoiding misleading statements that cause unwarranted confusion and that may disparage or infringe the intellectual property rights discussed above. Accordingly, we respectfully request the following:
Stated simply, we would like to be known and recognized for whom we are and what we believe, and not be inaccurately associated with beliefs and practices that we condemn in the strongest terms. We would be grateful if you could circulate or copy this letter to your editorial staff and to your legal counsel.
We thank you for your consideration of these important matters.
Sincerely,
Lance B. Wickman
General Counsel
WHY can't you HATEFUL bigots get it RIGHT???
--MormonDude(I need less coffee...)
DAUGHTERs???
Where are the WIVEs???
Joint heirs with Christ Jesus. We are adopted Jews and grafted into the branches. Both men and women who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
“Joint heirs with Christ Jesus.”
Yes, but we are not gods:
Isa_44:8 ... Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Isa_45:5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
There is only one God. To say that we will become gods by obedience to the LDS is a lie from the pit of hell.
You know, those truly in Christ will receive much. But there's NO where that the Bible talks about god-multiplication. (At least if we rule out false gods as part of that consideration)
You know, you can name your dog an "heir" & give him/her much upon your death. (That doesn't convert that dog into a human being)
“You know, you can name your dog an “heir” & give him/her much upon your death. (That doesn’t convert that dog into a human being)”
Take it to St. Paul the Apostle who said we are “joint heirs” with Christ Jesus. It is rather insulting to bring up dogs in this context but it’s a free country on FreeRepublic - you can say whatever you want, unless you’re a Mormon, that is. Have a great day!
I can quote Scripture, too. One of my favorites states in the New Testament that I am a “joint heir” with my Savior and Redeemer, Christ Jesus. I have been grafted in (adopted) and I am so very grateful for my Savior’s Atoning Sacrifice - He suffered and died to save me from my sins so that I may return to be with Him and my Heavenly Father forever. Amen.
There never was a point that Christ wasn't divine. (Or are you claiming that He wasn't divine at some point)
Since He was always divine, then obviously His "heirship" didn't involve becoming a god.
It is rather insulting to bring up dogs in this context but its a free country on FreeRepublic - you can say whatever you want, unless youre a Mormon, that is.
And so now, by implication--by parallel--you accuse C.S. Lewis of writing "insulting" things?
C.S. Lewis once described the incarnation as like a man becoming a frog to save all the frogs of the world.
The situations are all analogous: Pre Christ's incarnation, there existed a greater gap between Christ and man than there is between a dog & humanity or between frogs & humanity.
“I can quote Scripture, too.”
Yes, but unlike you, I believe it. Let me know when you’ve become a Monotheist and I’ll begin to take your scripture quoting seriously.
