My wife recently chaperoned a dance for junior high schoolers at a Catholic school. She working the door when another of the chaperones, a father of one of the students in attendance, hurried over and asked her what he was supposed to do about an eighth grade girl making out with an 8th grade guy in the middle of the dance floor.
Thats not ok, is it? he asked her. Should we be doing something about this?
The man truly didnt know what his responsibilities were. My wife was stunned by the question. She was about to answer when another man came up to her and asked her the same question about the kissing couple. Its not O.K., she said. Tell them to stop!
From what I understand, after a lot of eyerolls from the couple, they stopped mauling each other with their mouths. But heres the thing - what they were doing was completely expected. Kids do dumb things. What the kids did was something kids have been trying to do since kids were invented. Nothing new there.
What has changed in recent years are parents. Can you imagine just forty years ago two fathers frozen and completely unaware of what to do about two eighth graders kissing passionately on the dance floor? Whats happened to men? Whats happened to Dads?...

That's the real goal of feminism/progressivism, getting the girls to let you. If modesty and virginity are undermined, women are relegated to sex objects and mere property.
It's no irony that the rights women struggled for through all of human history are being lost with their full and enthusiastic consent.
Brilliant - they’re cowards, complete moral and I suspect physical cowards.
LOL
A slow dance is how I found out. LOL
We had a Brother that would pop you in the head with a chalk board eraser. He was accurate, too.
Can you imagine a teacher popping a kid with an eraser today?
As a twenty-ish guy, I would find that pretty underwhelming. Throw in some facepaint, some kind of medieval horse-gutting device and a bottle of strong alchohol on the table beside you and I might be a little perturbed. A little.
This trend began far earlier. A major transitional stage in moving from ‘Father Knows Best’ to ‘Father Molests’ which appears to be the ‘new normal’ for TV was “Father id a Fool’. This was a big part of late 50’s and 60’s sitcoms with the Bill Ewell's Show being the most egregious example. We have become so accustomed to the routine disparagement and even vilification of white middle age , middle class father figures we don't even notice the trope any more. One has to go back to the early 60’s to find cultural critics noticing this pattern. Two card carrying liberals, the Hechingers, who were the NYT ‘Education Columnists’ for a long time, wrote a book published about 1963 titled ‘Teenage Tyranny’. What it described was the opening and middle stages of the infantilizing of American culture by advertisers wand businesses who understood how much discretionary income spending adolescents in the consumerist 50’s and 60’s impacted. The result was to influence programming to use themes for TV shows that adolescents would supposedly identify with. One sure fire target of attraction ws denigrating father figures. This is a fascinating book to read today. Later in the 60’s and 70’s real cultural radicals began being hired as various types of TV scripters and idea persons. The assault of father figures and authority in general and the general normative structure of U.S. society moved on apace until we have the combination of PC, cultural marxism and smut that form the basis of most television ‘drams’ or sitcoms.
The dad’s are off making more kids for the prom.
What’s happened is a societal deemphasis on their importance, and with the radicalization of the feminist movement, a general dislike and distrust of them.. especially those who seek to teach their kids traditional values. In New America, fathers aren’t viewed as an integral part of children’s upbringing.. That’s been supplanted by Daddy Government.
Of course I went rounds time and again with her and her grandparents but that was not nearly as funny as what happened that day. In the end, she turned out good.
The government ceased it’s protection of them (that’s why these fathers were frozen), and then paid a bounty for divorcing them.
Worked like a charm.
Now everyone needs the government more than ever.
And the media makes more money from advertising.
It’s a “win-win”!
“Poppa was a rollin’ stone
Wherever he laid his hat was his home
And when he died
All he left us was alone”
Good post. Ties it up nicely.

As I said on anothr thread — Next year when Holy Thursday rolls around.......I encourage all men and young boys to go forward and volunteer to have their feet washed! Then we won’t have this women and girls thing happening.
Go activist!
LOL! Hope your state gets rid of the morons running things. It’s a weird day when NM is saner about guns than CO.
The first time I saw this application was right here on FR, many many moons ago, and someone (I can’t remember who) posted answers to the questions. It was one of the most hilarious posts I’ve ever seen, and I CAN’T FIND IT!!
You don’t happen to have it, do you?
Regards,
I suppose dads don’t say “I’ll kill you and make another one just like you” any more......
I’m quicker with my pocket knife.
