Half of Freeperdom seems to have been caught up in the speculation that Pope Benedict XVI's successor would be Peter the Roman, the final pope before the end of the world. But the gospel plainly said that you shall not know the day nor the hour. How can end-of-the-world prophecies be true AND the gospel be true? Simple: the end-of-the-world prophecies must be fulfilled in secret. But how?
Simple: Pope Benedict XVI is still the pope! Sure, other popes have resigned, but they quickly died afterward. Benedict hasn't even left the Vatican! Think about it: Pope Francis won't even wear the papal vestments. Oh, he's too modest, they say. No, it's because dear Pope Benedict still wears them.
But why? Now, when Pope Benedict dies, they can gather all the cardinals, supposedly for his funeral, and elect a new pope without the world even knowing.
It does say that in the Bible, but what does 'day' and 'hour' mean to the creator of the entire Universe ?
It also says God created the entire Universe in six days, so I'm not sure that 'his' idea of 'time' is the same as ours.
Then Yeshua contradicts what is in 1 Thess...both have to be true, neither one can be ignored...
And no one DOES know the day or the hour, because that particular Holy Day is the only one depending upon the new moon.
And one does not know the season (which Jubilee), but if one is watchful, and knows the prophecies, one will know when the signs point to a particular jubilee (probably the Grand Jubilee coming 14 years from now).
If one studies the Holy Days of YHWH (done by keeping them), one will know. These things are rehearsals. They are prophetic. And just as most Jews missed the coming of Messiah, so too will the Christians be caught unawares, because they do not keep the commandments of YHWH.
Merry X-mas and Happy Ishtar.
“The reason NO ONE knows the day or hour is that there is no set DAY or HOUR. It is a ‘condition’. God didn’t set a time, just a condition.”
Well put. OTOH Jesus did warn us what to look for. With regard to the hour and time, I like the idea that some say Jesus will come back during the Feast of Trumpets. IIRC the festival starts at the visible sunrise on the day after a full moon in some month in the fall. The observed sunrise needs to be confirmed by two people, and then the trumpets are sounded. And because it needs to be “observed” (not just calculated) - one never knows exactly when it will happen. I think there was something to do with the difficulty of figuring out the day too.
AND - I’ve read where during his ministry, Jesus did something that was notable during all of the Jewish Festivals. Except for the Feast of the Trumpets. Not sure if that is true or not - but interesting.
Interesting - but not that it makes much difference I suppose in how we should live our daily lives, which is to ALWAYS be ready. (”Like a thief in the night...”)
Study the fulfillment of the Spring Feasts as accomplished by Yeshua. You will find a beautiful fulfillment, not to an hour, but right down to the very moment: When the High Priest sacrifices the perfect lamb, he holds his bloody hands out from his sides, looks up to heaven, and cries out, "It is finished!" Every single thing from the Mikvah of Yeshua through his ascension was done precisely to the minute, and according to the prophecy.
The children perish for lack of knowledge.
So... if you don't mind my ignorance and my asking, just when is that 'moment' ?
Yep
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord.....for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch (2 Timothy 1:7-8,Rev 19:10,John 6:29,John 13:19,Mark 13:37 )
I gave you one of them: While the Aaronic High Priest was on Moriah crying out "It is finished!", The High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek was on a cross, lifted up on the Hill of Golgotha, with his bloody hands outstretched, uttering the very same thing. Not to the day or hour, but to the very moment. There are MANY such moments in the ministry of Yeshua - And many more to come, when He arrives to fulfill the Fall Feasts.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing (Mat 24:45-46)
Thus,at the season of Christ's return, the faithfull and wise servant is giving the household meat in due season ie:he's telling them,He's coming!
‘The problem with your satire is that way too many people believe exactly what you are parodying.’
Dang, Dangus, I have looked and see no sarcasm tag on your story.
Is this some sort of double-secret probation stuff?
I specifically meant the highly prophecized 'end of the world'.
You mean like looking around and realizing that at least half of all humans have let evil dominate their soul ?
Jesus said we would not know the "day nor the hour", but if you read Matthew 24 he sure talks quite a bit about the times and the seasons and the things that will be going on when he returns. Some of it IS going on right now.
I AM trying for meat, FRiend... But it is still 'hamburger helper', at best. So much leaven to get rid of! I wonder how many Christians really stop to think about that particular part of Passover?
ie:he's telling them,He's coming!
Maranatha!
Mat 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

Thx for your kind replies.
No, Replacement Theology and the refusal to participate in anything that belongs to !!!DEM JOOOOOS!!! has left Christian prophecy in a woeful state. Even now, many, many deny the very precise manner in which the state of Israel was established (which should be a sounding of the ram's horn to any follower of Yahweh). One finds it remarkable that none remember who exactly was grafted into whom, and who the (re)new(ed) covenant was given to.
But it remains that Yahweh has moved in spite of the claims of others with an almost impossible precision. Study his holy days in history and you will be astonished what has happened right before your eyes!
I specifically meant the highly prophecized 'end of the world'.
I was speaking to your speculation that 'hour' and 'day' may be imprecise - My intention was to show you that there is nothing imprecise about it.
As to the end, that can not yet be predicted, as prophecy needs to occur to be certain. But it will follow the fall feasts, and will most probably be in a Jubilee year. I intend to see the coming of Messiah with there old eyes. But if I do not, my children will certainly see that day.
Why do you post crap, dangus?
As to the end, that can not yet be predicted, as prophecy needs to occur to be certain.
Although I understand what you mean, that sentence does sound a bit circumlocutious.
I don't mean to be - All I mean to say is that too many things still need to happen to assign a close date.
As an example, three wars - the Ps. 83 war, the War of Magog and Armageddon. There are sequences that seem to occur between these wars requiring a passage of time, and the wars themselves will require time (to include staging). Because of that, one would have to assume enough time for each to flower, and for interim between them.
One cannot suppose these major wars will happen (be completed, w/ interim) within the next five years, to randomly pick a close number. I find it necessary to exercise caution until these (and other things too) come to pass.
It would be presumptuous to do otherwise.
