A majority of American Roman Catholics consider the church out of touch with their views...
The new poll shows a greater yearning for change than when Benedict became pope in 2005. At about the time he was selected, fully half of American Catholics wanted the church to stick with its traditional policies; now, 38 percent say so...
The Post-ABC poll finds 55 percent of Catholics opposing the ban on married priests, while 58 percent oppose the prohibition on female priests. About a third say they want to keep the priesthood male and unmarried.

I am curious about your post 52 indicating that you support the left’s immigration agenda to win their war against life and Christian conservatism, by making the democrat vote unbeatable.
Numbers are not what is relevant here, but percentages.
In 2000, the Prot. vote was 42/56 Gore vs. Bush, while the Cath. vote was 50/47.
In 2004 the Prot. vote was 40/59 Kerry vs. Bush, the Evang. vote 21/79, while the Cath. vote was 47/52.
In 2008, the Prot. vote was 45/54 Obama vs. McCain, the Evang. vote 34/65, while the Cath. vote was 54/45.
In 2012, the Prot. vote was 42/57 Obama vs. Romney, the Evang. vote 20/79, while the Cath. vote was 50/48. - http://www.pewforum.org/Politics-and-Elections/How-the-Faithful-Voted-2012-Preliminary-Exit-Poll-Analysis.aspx#rr
I’ve already responded to you. Do you have a problem with that?
It's more like most American Catholics are out of touch with their church...
You were non-responsive.
You posted on my post 48 indicating that you support the lefts immigration agenda to win their war against life and Christian conservatism, by making the democrat vote unbeatable.
But you refuse to respond further about what appears to be a strong democrat position.
I must confess that your posts to me are beginning to be of concern. It seems that you may be unable to discern between what I have actually posted on this thread, what I have posted in the past, and what your fevered imagination seems to be telling you.
Rush Limbaugh nailed it when he was commenting on the Pope and said the media views the Pope as a supreme court justice that they can't intimidate.
Then he referred to Judge Roberts, which I thought was gutsy.
Look, it;s pathethic but the polls show that 4 Million EVANGELICALS didn;t show up to vote Republican like they usually do......Catholics voted way more for Republicns than THEY usually do. It’s sad and pathetic.
Your post 52 was about my post 48 and immigration.
Something that you do not seem to want to elaborate on or clarify, although you keep posting to me over and over when I ask you for clarity.
You posted on my post 48 indicating that you support the lefts immigration agenda to win their war against life and Christian conservatism, by making the democrat vote unbeatable.
Thank you for your interest. Good night.
Catholics voted for Obama, and you want to go after the most anti-Obama vote in America?
Evangelicals voted 79% republican and are the most pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-republican voters in America, Catholics voted for Obama again which is normal for the catholic voters and the democrats.
Something needs to be fixed, but it isn’t Evangelical voters, especially in view of what we are importing by the millions.
How about “Millions of people who used to be Catholic but have not set foot in a church for decades wish the Catholic Church would encourage sin.”?
Incredible but expected. In response to the reality that Catholics voted liberal in Presidential election after election , and almost half voted for Obama in the last one, while evangelicals at 79% for Romney (not exactly a Regan) even surpassed Mormons, then you blame them for losing the election due to the small percentage who did not vote at all.
That's desperate. Rather than blaming the far more conservative and committed evangelicals for their failure to be even more conservative and committed, then try to look at the beam in the Catholic eye.
If 79% of Catholics voted for Obama and only 50% of evangelicals voted for Romney, i do not think you would stand for blaming Catholics because a small percentage stayed home because Romney was a quasi conservative.
Now go find out the percentage of Catholics who did not vote either, and might have voted for Romney. Or course this may be inconsequential was they at best vote about 50/50, but cannot be blamed for not being conservative and thus helping the majority of evangelicals.
More data:
White evangelicals/born-again Christians made up the same percentage of the electorate as they did in 2008 26%. They voted for Mitt Romney, a devout Mormon, by a wider margin than they did for Sen. John McCain four years ago.
And, they made up a larger share of the electorate in 2012 than in 2004, when the Christian Right supposedly fueled George W. Bushs reelection. They also voted for Romney with the exact same margin as for Bush in 2004, 78%-21%.
White evangelical voters in select swing states CO: 25%, 76-22 Romney; 2008: 21%, 76-23 McCain FL: 24%, 79-21 Romney; 2008: 24%, 77-21 McCain IA: 38%, 64-35 Romney; 2008: 31%, 65-33 McCain NV: 18%, 69-28 Romney; 2008: 16%, 72-27 McCain OH: 31%, 69-30 Romney; 2008: 30%, 71-27 McCain
They make up just 14 percent of the registered-voter base in the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. They outpaced that percentage in the presidential election, (2) This is true every other demographic group in the country as well. - http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/11/16/15219396-no-its-not-christians-fault-obama-won?lite
I’m just telling you the FACTS of the last election....it doesn;t make me feel good. Yes, Evangelicals vote overwhelmingly for Republicans BUT they stayed home because of the Mormon Romney......you can bury your head if you want but its a fact.
I want change too. I want the Church to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Maybe it’s time to thin the flock.
All fine and dandy but 79% of 4 MILLION LESS VOTERS gets you one Obama. Evangelicals stayed home by the thousands, maybe Millions because Bush had DUI when he was young and in college!!! Come on....it is what it is..<P.My STUPID, FALLEN AWAY Catholic brethen voted for him in 2008 by a majority, but they weren;t a majrity vote in 2012.
Actually, Evangelicals were the most supportive of Mormon Romney.
Catholics voted for the other guy.
It is hard not to notice that you are angry at Obama’s strongest opposition, is that for religious reasons or because of your politics?
Weaker turn out for a weak candidate is one thing, refusing to vote for him is one thing, but choosing to vote for Obama is another thing entirely, Catholics did that.
Look, I am TOTALLLY disguted by ANY Catholic that voted for Obama and WISHED thay had stayed home....they didn;t....sadly. Do you not know that 4 million Evangelicals stayed home??? geesh even Gary Bauer says it.
If 79% of Evangelicals voted republican, then very few voted for Obama.
The majority of Catholics voted for Obama.
Don’t you wish that all Christians voted like Evangelicals, or would you rather that they vote like Catholics?
THIS time the majority of Catholics did NOT vote for Obama.....as I said...ALL EVANGELICALS VOTED FOR ROMNEY...now go away.
