Yes .. we all know about Fr. Malachi Martin’s work. We don’t judge all members by the few. In most parts of the world, they are still orthodoxly teaching the faith.

The essence of religion is faith, not fact. I guess that’s why it is so difficult for some, because to see past one’s own world view is more difficult than anything else there is.
The beauty of the Church is that God acts through broken people from all walks of life. All of them redeemed sinners, but sinners none the less.
None are worthy of Heaven, but for the sacrifice of Christ for our sins.
So, you see, God generally goes with the underdog on almost everything. He goes with the most unworthy. Moses was a murderer, as was Saul of Tarsus (Paul). Moses was also both pretty dull and not all that bright, such that he made Aaron go with Moses and essentially speak for him on most matters.
That 115 Cardinals pick the Vicar of Christ doesn’t surprise me in the least. Most of them are asking God to pick for them anyway, and then someone gets picked.
Lately, and I’m talking about the last 100 years or so, that someone has been pretty solid.
So, yeah, God will probably be visiting Jorge, I mean Pope Francis, pretty soon, if He hasn’t already.

I really like the idea of a Pope from Latin America. Plus, given his family’s heritage, the Italians can console themselves that an Italian is back in the Papacy.
I’m no canon lawyer, but I think after Abp Gomez took away his right to function as a bishop (which Gomez could do as the Ordinary of L.A.), there was nobody in a jurisdictional position to do anything further-— that is, without a canonical trial, which would take us somewhere into 2014.

Here is what Yeshua really had to say about unification, WRT the sheep:

The "they" to which Yeshua refered in John 17 were the true sheep, not including the tares that presently constitute the majority of the 'church.'
I assume they have the same tradition which is manifested at political conventions in the US - after the nominee gets over the top in votes, a motion is entertained, seconded, and passed, making the selection unanimous.
Time will tell which days were truly joyful.
Logic and truth do become obsessions, but to our advancement.
