We got what I was hoping....
“A simple lifestyle has contributed to his reputation for humility”
Not some ‘insider’ / ‘establishment’ Cardinal with all sorts of ‘titles’ and ‘administrative’ career.

Ah--- bless your heart, MeOn. Actually, beinst we're Catholics, God generally doesn't speak direct to us, like, via cell phone.
Admittedly, direct word from God occasionally, miraculously, happens; but as a wise priest once told me, "Normally, God acts normally."
We hope Pope Francis is, and remains, in a state of Sancticfying Grace, which means he -- like any baptized person --- is a temple of the Holy Spirit .

Thanks be to God I do not have to hear anymore of those St. Malachy predictions. :)

And there goes the myth of the St. Malachy predictions. Well, at least for the next consecutive pope. There has been talk about some indefinite number of intervening popes, which would seem to make the prophecy, even if true, just about worthless.

Announces the blessing upon the crowd.
The crowd cheers.
He removes his vestment. now all, white again.
Flags of many countries wave in the crowd.
Pope Francis I speaks again. .thanks the crowd, asks them to pray for him.
Says he will see them again tomorrow..
The curtains close.

Why won’t those eternal ideas give way to the hip trends of the last 10 years?

Uh... didn’t someone say that he is an Italian from Argentina?

Seems like a very humble man.
Very much in command. he got the crowd to be utterly silent when he asked them to join him in prayer for himself.

Yes, you are right. My thought was that he looks so kind and looks as though he smiles a lot.
I found myself on my knees, in prayer and in tears when he came out. May God bless and keep him.

St Francis of Assissi:
Many of the stories that surround the life of St. Francis deal with his love for animals.

Another Catholic Pope! It must be some kind of conspiracy. Lol! Thanks for that! And, once again, the College of Cardinals pulls out a surprise. Love his choice of name ... now we will have wait to learn from which St. Francis he has chosen his name.

He's not with Liberation Theology, he's with Communone e Liberazione, a conservative Church group I used to enjoy beer & pizza with 25 years ago (they had a branch in DC). The founders of C+L were Cathlic students at the University of Milan who regular got beat up by the Marxist student groups. They survived a lot and are reliably anticommunist.
This guy Francis I sounds like a really, really good choice.
