Dramatic and conventional in its portrayal... that's how I characterize the History Channel's presentation of Genesis and Exodus. Did it present Abraham's Horite people faithfully? Not at all. This was a rehash of old interpretations that fail to tell the whole story. In other words, a missed opportunity.
The program clearly stirred interest because after it aired this blog had over 300 reads in less than 30 minutes. The higher traffic continued the following day. People arrived from different search engines with questions like "Who was Abraham's firstborn son?" and "What color was Abraham?"
If you watched the program, try to imagine theses changes:

The first part was so bad I can’t watch any more. A gross insult to its title.
John Houston’s The Bible is much better.
That is my hope as well.
The series may not be the “work of art” many are longing for.
But I find it to be entertaining. Should the Bible be entertaining? Probably not...but consider that the audience that maybe watching might be intrigued enough to pick up a Bible. Or if the ratings are good enough, other stations might follow suit and do their own series. Sadly, that’s how things start..ratings. Think about it. One station does a reality show...we are flooded with reality shows. One station does a crime drama..we are flooded with them. I pray this pattern holds true.
"Hamitic" if by that you mean Negroid, then no, there was the vastness of the desert separating the Afro-Asian peoples from the Negroids
Btw, for us Aryanic peoples we didn't interact with the Afro-Asiatic peoples until 1900 BC with the Hittites moving south-west, the Indo-Iranis moving south-east.
A Hollywood atheist does better than the Christian producers. What does that say about this production?
Considering it’s the History Channel, I think they are trying to be respectful and I appreciate that.
This thread is as disappointing as the television program.
It is about what I expected although much is cheezy but, it is a good first attempt. They obviously don’t have a big budget so they have to cut corners. Hopefully, some will come to Christ from it.
Pray for America
I think the Hollywood athiest had more talent and a bigger budget. :^)
A new version of Ben Hur is on the new Ovation channel. It think it will be on Sunday.
The Vikings- C-
Hatfield and McCoys- A-
I finally turned off for good after they rolled out a Rastafarian Sampson.
Yeah, they should have saved the “diversity” card until a later episode. Might have kept the audience a bit longer.
