It’s not “sex abuse.” The incidence of attack by actual pedophiles among the Catholic clergy is lower than among the general population. It’s the gay mafia, which people like O’Malley will never admit. Boston was virtually the epicenter of this under Medeiros, who was known to his clergy as “Mother Madeiros,” and it didn’t improve a lot under subsequent bishops, either.

I’m kinda expecting some sort of order leader to be selected. This would not exclude O’Malley but I would add holiness to the two he mentioned.
