Okay, this morning when I heard about Pope Benedict resigning, I immediately went to the Vaticans website to read their press release.
Imagine my surprise when I was greeted with what appears to be a crescent moon with the Pope as the star:

As someone quipped on another post, why would Obummer accept the office of the papacy, which would be a demotion from being a god?

Nice shot. Right on target, so to speak. Hahahaha

Shiny side out. Dull side out attracts the mind-control rays.

That design has been on the Vatican’s website for some time. Like years.

Firstly, it ain't a crescent moon -- more like a 3/4th circle
Secondly, the Crescent moon is not an islamic symbol but a Turkic one -- used by Turkic empires including Buddhist and Nestorian Christians and Manichaen

The swastika symbolizes the Hindu wheel of life. In Vietnam I saw swastikas worn by Buddhists. American Indians revered the swastika symbol.
But both the swastika and the crescent moon got permanently hijacked by dark forces & will always be associated with them. Mosque domes topped by the crescent & star have nothing to do with the Ottomans.
The Vatican website doesn’t incorporate the crescent by a long shot. For one thing, the horns of the Islamic crescent are normally pointed to the right.

Well, I've been to the Vatican's website in the past. I think 2010 was the last time. It didn't trigger my subliminal consciousness.
So, after reading your comment, I went to the WayBack Machine (Archive.net) and walked it up to June 4, 2011 (the last time the previous design was there):
Sure, it's similar, but it doesn't really suggest a crescent moon and star to me. However, the newer design with the yellow glow and the removal of the circular icons inside the broken circle starts my internal radar pinging:
Maybe it's just a coincidence. However, the Vatican seriously needs to reconsider that new design!
Cheers!

So now every semi-circle is an Islamic crescent?
C'mon, when does the moon ever look like that?
Is the "C" of Colorado or the Chicago Cubs or the Cincinnati Reds Islamic?
What about the Euro symbol or the UN Security Council?
Well, maybe (and don't forget Cincinnati changed their name to the "Redlegs" during the Cold War -- to hide communist ties?).

Good detective work, Doctor! I have not been on the actual site in a little while, so I'm glad I wasn't blowing smoke the first time!
All in all, I'm sure it's just coincidental--the new design is "cleaner," which perhaps allows for better navigation/access to the information.
