I was at the grocery store the other day when I was unexpectedly confronted with an adult-oriented magazine located right next to the vitamin section. I immediately had to look away from the front cover, which featured a scantily clad, seductively posed, sex symbol. Yet it was only a few weeks ago that I read an article about how this same sex symbol loves to speak in tongues and has to restrain herself from outbursts in tongues while attending church services. What?
This is actually a perfect illustration of American charismatic Christianity, where you can say you love Jesus (like the rapper The Game claims to do) and still frequent strip clubs (as The Game still does), or where you can flow in the gifts of the Spirit and become a made-for-TV preaching sensation, only to announce that God told you that you married the wrong woman, leading to a quick divorce and remarriage.
Yes, this is the gospel of the 21st century, Spirit-filled church of America, where the cross is bypassed, denial of the flesh is scorned, purity is called legalism, and anything goes if it feels good.
It is the gospel of self, in which Jesus dies to make you into a bigger and better you, a gospel in which God is here to serve you and help you fulfill your dreams, and where the measure of all things is not how God feels about it but how you feel about it (or how it makes you feel).

I have some theological differences with Dr. Brown but I think he makes some good points here.
So i am just addressing some of the comments i have read.
For instance a comment was made that if the guy that don,t like to look at women might be gay makes me wonder if they have even given it much thought.
I also have to force myself not to look at pretty women on the book shelves in the grocery stores, not because i don,t like them but because i like them too much, i have also had to leave Churches because some of the women in the long dress,es looked even better,( addressing another comment that was made ).
Many people will do one thing or another because it happens to be popular, every one else is doing it, or my Church teaches it.
It does not matter what some ones Church teaches, we are all capable of reading the Bible and besides i have never met one single person who agrees one hundred percent with what their Church teaches unless it happens to be to their fancy.
However it is separating the sheep from the goats and that is what it is all about, which of these groups i am going to be in is what my main concern is and has been for many years.
I think the Bible at one time was said to be the most sold and the least read book in the world.
But it does not take much reading, only one of the Gospels.
Jesus said that if we see some one who is hungry to give them something to eat,( if some one needs help to help them,) this is not talking about Government hand outs or charity drives, he is talking about giving of ones self.
Jesus is the only name in which we can be saved and if we are reading his words we are reading the Gospel, but it is up to every individual to follow this gospel.
Music is not of the devil, as you apparently seem to think.
Music does not force people to sin as you apparently think.
David stripped to his loin cloth and danced in the street singing praises to God.
How is that you do not know that.
Praise and worship is not sin.
22
Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
Psalms 100
1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
3 Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 150
1 Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Ephesians 5:19
Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
Psalm 149:3
Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
Psalm 146:1-2
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
1 Chronicles 13:8
And David and all Israel were rejoicing before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets.

You do what you want. I on the other hand will I set my feet to dancing as I sing with a loud voice, while others play tambourines, cymbals, harps, lyres, strings, pipes and trumpets!
Years ago, I worked with a guy who was always so excited about the great meetings he was attending, and the speaking in tongues that happened there. His enthusiasm was enormous, he couldn’t stop talking about the baptism of the Spirit. Then it turned out he was, during the whole time, stealing from our employer.
Then I had repeated experiences like this. You speak in tongues? Interesting, but so what?
If it has some connection with following Jesus, I am unable to discern it.
Go ahead and do what you want.
wow, Just wow!
Nothing wrong with moderate alcohol consumption. Drunkenness no.
Jesus was at the wedding at Canna and turned water into wine. I would assume He also had wine Himself.
Ecclesiastes 5
18 This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given themfor this is their lot.
Points well taken. Thanks.
I can’t get enough of this video since first viewing it. Curious for your opinions:

oooh, And I bet they go to movies and boys/girls swim together......ever so naughty. ((eye roll))
Christians can’t go to concerts? That’s a new one.
The scriptures are clear why Christians speak in tongues. It used to confuse me until I learned why. Nothing I learned from the scriptures excluded Christian sex symbols from speaking in tongues.
wow, Just wow!
My opinion is very favorable and thank you for sharing.
You may well enjoy the message this simple ad delivers.
Jesus did not drink alcoholic wine
He created new wine, he did not create wine with any decay in it, did he?
alcohol is a process of decay, death, and if Jesus made it, it didnt have death or decay in it, did it...
Please, you are slandering God when you say Jesus drank alcoholic wine
ITA.
“Jesus did not drink alcoholic wine”
Whoa; hold on, where do you come up with that? Jesus became fully human and came to earth. Why would he not have had wine?
You wrote:
“Jesus did not drink alcoholic wine”
Yes, He did.
“He created new wine, he did not create wine with any decay in it, did he?”
The wine He created at Cana contained alcohol. That’s one of the reasons why there was the comment about having saved the best wine until last.
“alcohol is a process of decay, death, and if Jesus made it, it didnt have death or decay in it, did it...”
Jesus made wine. Wine has alcohol. Jesus did not make grape juice. God does not have to rely on “decay” to make anything. He’s God. He’s not bound by the usual rules. He’s God.
“Please, you are slandering God when you say Jesus drank alcoholic wine”
The slander is to deny that He did drink alcoholic wine. Luke 7:33-34
