Most people seem to assume that the universe is chock full of intelligent life. But what if we ARE alone in the Universe? So far all SETI searches have shown no evidence of other civilizations out there. If you have devoted your life to searching for intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, you are probably wasting your time.
The more I study about the formation of the earth, the more convinced I am that the earth is pretty much a freak occurrence whose conditions for life or intelligent life exits nowhere else. So what are the theological implications of this? I would be most interested in reading your input.
‘non-inertial’ frame
No he was pretty explicit that you can’t beat the speed of light, BUT where the leeway lives in defining the speed of light to your object AND the space around it. NASA’s got a lot of stuff about it, the thing to always keep in mind is that it’s about space-time, not just time.

It is perfectly conceivable that there are objects in the universe that are traveling at velocities (relative to ourselves) greater than the velocity of light. We simply can’t see such bodies or sense them in any way - so we can’t measure their velocity.
A subjective subject — however, there are no limits on time, space, and life.
Given some of the weird instantaneous quantum level stuff that goes on we know that speed limit is just a suggestion on some level.
We can’t even measure negation at faster than light. If two objects are headed towards each other at just over half the speed of light then technically the space in between them should be closing at greater than that speed of light. But if you try to measure it will top out under the speed of light.
When we talk about intelligence, i think we need to find just a little bit here on this planet before we start looking for it some where else so we will know what to look for.
LOL Like I care what you think. I reiterate : You have confused science fiction for reality and better still cling to your ignorance. classic DK
Let’s see who to believe, NASA, or the guy that can’t complete a post without an insult. Maybe you should read your own link, you’re the shining example here.
Fantasy - NASA doesn't have anything "faster than light", and it's obvious you don't have a clue and don't want one. Well put your money where you mouth is good buddy. Let us all know what NASA link has faster than light travel on it. When someone points out that you're wrong, you hang on to your delusional belief and rather than think that YOU might be wrong. A phenomenon that is very common on FR. I guess you're part of the self esteem generation. You science fiction people think your delusions are real. You probably think there are aliens in Roswell. That's the amusing and pathetic part. The fact is that NOTHING can exceed the speeed of light in a vacuum.
Oh and BTW it isn't believing me or NASA it's believing the entire scientific establishment or you.
The more I read what the dims are doing, the more I realise that there is not much intelligent life here on earth....
Oh look more insults, and you didn’t bother to notice I already included a link to NASA talking about this:
http://www.nasa.gov/centers/glenn/technology/warp/warpstat_prt.htm
And actually quite a bit of the scientific establishment agrees. The primary drawback has always been how do you condense space. It’s always been discussed as kind of a quip, “sure you can beat the speed of light, you just have to do this other impossible thing”. Except recent stuff from NASA and others are showing maybe it’s not impossible, just really really hard. Of course I’m sure you’ll just throw a bunch more insults around, proving you know you’re actually wrong. Really you should read your own link, that IS you, and your latest post just proved it. You have a serious illusion of superiority and a deep inability to recognize your mistake.
Bye now.
