At the Angelus, Benedict XVI invites prayers for Week dedicated to Christian Unity (18-25 January). This year's theme, "What the Lord requires of us" (cf. I 6.6 to 8), was chosen and developed by an ecumenical group in India. On January 25, Vespers at St. Paul Outside the Walls, along with representatives of the Christian Churches. A prayer for peace for "an end to the massacres of unarmed civilians, to all violence, and to find the courage of dialogue and negotiation."
Vatican City (AsiaNews) - "One of the most serious sins that disfigures the face of the Church is its visible lack of unity, especially the historical divisions that have separated Christians and which have not yet been completely resolved." This is what Benedict XVI said in his reflection before the Angelus prayer with pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square. The Pope's words are due to the fact that for more than 100 years, 18 to 25 January, the Christian world celebrates the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, "a moment - explained the pope - always welcome by believers and communities, which awakens in all the desire and spiritual commitment to full communion".
Experts often say that the ecumenical momentum in Churches - especially non-Catholic ones- is fading. But Benedict XVI fondly remembers "the vigil I celebrated about a month ago, in this square, with thousands of young people from across Europe and the ecumenical community of Taizé: a moment of grace in which we experienced the beauty of being one in Christ. " The young people of Taizé in fact wanted to celebrate their European meeting at the end of 2012 in Rome.
The pope encouraged "everyone to pray together so that we can achieve," What the Lord requires of us "(cf. I 6.6 to 8), as this year's........

I would suggest that you do more research on
Constantine, the Arian Heresy and the council at Nicaea.Constantine supported the Arian heretics, not the Catholic Church. He and his sons even attempted depose the Pope and Catholic Bishops and set up his own Arian puppet bishops in their place. In fact, Athanasias, was one of the Bishops exiled by him.

Ah, the cult wars!
Division is the rule of life. Unity never endures the ravages of time. This is Christianity’s class / caste system, and something it failed to escape.
Like Ayn Rand observed prophetically, the individual is the smallest minority. This is why Protestantism’s “unity” and strength comes from a greater attention to the individual, compared to Catholicism’s greater focus on the “community”. No wonder Catholic-majority countries are largely socialistic. And the Catholic Church just yesterday announced support for Obama’s gun control stance. It’s all related, the stain of human-conceived religions just peeks out and shines through!

It is a false belief that Peter is the first pope.Peter, Linus, Cletus, Clement, Evaristus, Alexander, Sixtus, Telesphorus, Hyginus, Pius, Anicetus, Soter, Eleutherius, Victor, Zephrynius, Callistus, Urban, Pontain, Anterus, Fabian, Cornelius, Lucius, Stephen, SixtusII, Dionysius, Felix, Eutychian, Caius, Marcellinus, Marcellus, Eusebius, Milteades and Sylvester would beg to differ.

Your Catholic word for the day ....
Subsidiarity!
"The social teaching of the Church is based on the human person as the principle, subject and object of every social organization."

Which is why your church rejects Nicaea?

The Holy Father could revoke the Decet Romanum were he so inclined.

Read “Pagan Christianity” by Frank Viola. It is the most researched book concerning this very topic. I bet you won’t because it’s much easier to call me names.
I wish you the best on your journey brother.

Rand was an atheist if I recall. She wouldn’t have a positive view on religion, however I do agree in a sense. Anything religion organized and run by man is going to be flawed. The current Christian Churches are not what Peter and Paul envisioned. Paul spent his life defending against what we have today. We are the Church, Jesus is head, not some guy who lives in the vestiges of a fallen empire.

Catholics believe :
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, and born of the Father before all ages. God of God light of light, true God of true God. Begotten not made, consubstantial to the Father, by whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven. And was incarnate of the Holy Ghost and of the Virgin Mary and was made man; was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried; and the third day rose again according to the Scriptures. And ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father, and shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, of whose Kingdom there shall be no end. And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who together with the Father and the Son is to be adored and glorified, who spoke by the Prophets. And one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
so which part of that is a "paganistic cult"?
One thing for sure, those who thrive on attacking Catholics are solidly on the side of King Barry whether it's telling others to not vote for Romney or telling others that Catholics aren't Christian. Whatever they can do to cause divisions among Christians supports King Barry so they do whatever they can do to help King Barry.
Which is why such folks aren't the least bit upset that two thirds of infants murdered in the womb are murdered by abortificiant contraceptives when superior alternatives exist that don't murder infants, and why they don't bother with any discussion of or resistance to King Barry stomping on the First Amendment.

He just sucks up and regurgitates a pile of garbage that was shown to be fabrications and lies a long time ago. People who cannot even accept the entire Scripture Christ and the Apostles preached are marketers of whatever sells, not authorities on Christianity other than the Self Worship a great many people substitute for following Christ.
Those who are Christian accept what Christ Himself said rather than twisting it to suit their own preferences. Scripture like:
Matthew 26:26 "And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke: and gave to his disciples, and said: Take ye, and eat. This is my body."
Mark 14:22 "And whilst they were eating, Jesus took bread; and blessing, broke, and gave to them, and said: Take ye. This is my body."
Luke 6:46 And why call you me, Lord, Lord; and do not the things which I say?
I Corinthians 9:27 But I chastise my body, and bring it into subjection : lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway.
I Corinthians 10:16 The chalice of benediction, which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? And the bread, which we break, is it not the partaking of the body of the Lord?
James 2:17 So faith also, if it have not works, is dead in itself.
James 2:18 But some man will say : Thou hast faith, and I have works : shew me thy faith without works ; and I will shew thee, by works, my faith.
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God. Thou dost well : the devils also believe and tremble.
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, offering up Isaac his son upon the altar?
James 2:22 Seest thou, that faith did co-operate with his works; and by works faith was made perfect?
James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled, saying: Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him to justice, and he was called the friend of God.
James 2:24 Do you see that by works a man is justified; and not by faith only?
James 2:25 And in like manner also Rahab the harlot, was not she justified by works, receiving the messengers, and sending them out another way?
James 2:26 For even as the body without the spirit is dead; so also faith without works is dead.
Romans 11:21 For if God hath not spared the natural branches, fear lest perhaps he also spare not thee.
Romans 11:22 See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God,if thou abide in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Every bit of which those who constantly attack Catholics revise or ignore to suit their Self and their Self Alone.

OK Rashputin, I believe every word you posted in bold, but I’m not a Roman Catholic. But I suspect you will still believe that I am far from the fold.
Islam is for “peace.” But it is a peace which is defined to mean a state in which everyone is muslim.
Roman Catholics, at least apparently so, define unity only as meaning we are all Roman Catholics.
I am not a Roman Catholic, because I see the gospel of the New Testament as something much simpler than the massive hierarchy that has developed in that church.

Brother I am familiar with all you quote. I don’t deny anything taught in the Bible. I take offense and respond when what I have studied is called out as not being true. There are Christians on this site who insinuated I was a liar for my believe and I must conform to the “true” Christianity of Catholoism.
I can go to a beach not far from here that was used to slaughter 200 men who refused to convert. That is your history. This attitude has not changed among your brethren.
Peace.

Roman Catholics are not the only Christians as the fact that many, many, churches recite the same identical creed every week and believe it as well attests.
I understand the innate resistance a lot of people have to a hierarchy but it's established in the New Testament and clearly so, unless someone sits down and reads the Scripture in a way that ignores the Apostles anointing some roles and just appointing others, making sure each new church had an anointed head and so on.
That isn't the issue although the majority of non-Catholics want to focus on that. The issue is whether Christ and Christ alone is in charge and we follow Him or we are in charge, filter what He says to suit our agenda, then claim to follow Him.
In fact, I heard Evangelicals and Fundamentalists preach for years that they would include as their Christian brothers anyone who believes in Salvation by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, but when Catholics say and spell out that exact same thing, Oh, well, then they can't be accepted as fellow Christians. Unity in Christ is focusing on Christ rather than the hierarchy or lack thereof and I dare say it's not Catholics who can't accept and welcome fellow Christians nearly as often as the reverse is true.
Mark 9:37 John answered him, saying : Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, who followeth not us, and we forbade him.
Mark 9:38 But Jesus said : Do not forbid him. * For there is no man that doth a miracle in my name, and can soon speak ill of me.
Mark 9:39 For he that is not against you, is for you.
Regards.
