Armstrong's defenders say that, yes, he did wrong, but he also has done a lot of good. But good works alone won't save him, or any of us, from damnation. For “all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags” in the eyes of the Lord.

He did wrong when he took money from the US Postal Service. Just as the team owners other sports do wrong when then intimidate politicians into using taxpayer money for their playpens. They’re all just entertainers. They dope so that their fans will pay more to see them. who are the dopes? A pox on all of them.

I think almost every celebutard is morally compromised these days. Otherwise they won’t let you get on TV.

If his name was Bubba...there would be no problem. If it was Hussein, they'd double the medals.

Wonder what would happen if he was black??? Hmmm Let's go to Kobe Bryant for some insight on that.

It’s sure been an interesting week, with Lance Armstrong and Manti Te’o in the news—and Mark Sanford on the comeback trail.

>No, Armstrong is going to hell – literally – because he refuses to bow to God and the Son of God.<

.
Ah, but there’s where God’s unfathomable mercy comes in — He gives us a lifetime to repent and the act itself takes a split second.

All of us should celebrate the fact that you nor I are God.

Thank God that no other mortal person is the final arbitrator of God’s Salvation to any individual.

I would not jump to conclusions. You might be right, but neither you nor I knows his earthly future or his eternal fate. Armstrong is a young man and has many years in which to repent. God loves Armstrong and will give him opportunities to learn and repent.

I have known some vicious atheists who came to Christ. It’s happening more and more often. A longtime atheist friend of mine just very suddenly gave himself to Jesus two months ago. It happens.

The eternal state of someone’s soul is determined at death, and not before. This is the teaching of the Catholic Church and, therefore, the teaching of Jesus.

The only way for Armstrong, Woods, Travolta and Gates to be forgiven their sins, the only for any of us to be spared God’s judgment, is to come to Jesus.

A biography of Bill Gates said that, as an 11-year old kid, he memorized the complete Sermon on the Mount better than anyone in the entire congregation of his family's church and had a deep understanding of it.

“In his 2000 autobiography, Armstrong wrote: “If there was indeed a God at the end of my days I hoped he didn’t say, ‘But you were never a Christian, so you’re going the other way from heaven.’ If so, I was going to reply, ‘You know what? You’re right. Fine.””

So he is fine with going to Hell. Does he think it will ok, just not as nice as heaven? He thinks he’ll be partying with all his friend there I guess. He’s never been told what Hell is really suppose to be like.

Good news for Armstrong! He wrote those unfortunate words in 2000, there is still time for him to have a change of mind and seek the forgiveness he needs from the only one who can give it. If, in the end, he still can only point to his good works to get him into heaven, well, they will burn - and so will he.

I believe that as long as Mr. Armstrong is still breathing, God will hold out the offer of His forgiveness, salvation, and restoration. It is, of course, up to Armstrong to accept God's gracious offer and then bear fruit in keeping with repentance.

I mean, if God could reach out to a most wretched sinner such as I am, save me, cleanse me, and use me for His kingdom, then he could certainly do so with Mr. Armstrong.

I sincerely hope that Mr. Armstrong, as well as all others who have not yet partaken in the Lord's delightful love and mercy, will be brought to his senses before it is too late.

I quit paying any attention to celiberties many years ago, and have not even heard of Armstrong,

If these people goe to hell they certainly will have plenty of company, they are popular because they have the same view as their fans either for the benefit of the popularity or in earnest.

I doubt if being a false idol is any worse than worshipping a false idol.

Jesus said, many shall be called but few will be chosen, so in regards to hell who am i worried about? me.

If so, I was going to reply, ‘You know what? You’re right. Fine.”

This is the typical condition of the human heart. People really don't care until God meets them on the Damascus Road. But that being said, what is troubling is such an overt statement. It indicates a harden heart from which it is impossible to restore one to repentance. God will give him the desires of his heart.
