This is not just a Catholic issue. All of us should applaud the current Pope. In this he speaks for all of us, who believe that truth is a positive value; that only by accepting truth as a sacred premise governing any social interaction, can man achieve his potential.

As a non Catholic, I agree with you. We should be applauding the church’s stance on this issue and understand that an attack on one who opposes gay marriage is an attack on us all who believe in the sanctity and dignity of traditional marriage (one man, one woman united with God’s blessing.)
I for one believe the gay agenda and its supporters aren’t content with corrupting the word marriage, they’re out to destroy Christianity. The proof in my accusation is in their refusal to accept gay unions, insisting on using the word marriage. If a civil union and a traditional marriage were afforded the same legal rights, they’d still insist on calling their relationships as “marriage.” That’s proof they’re out attacking traditional Biblical marriage.
