Ping!
That’s a lot to read, and I didn’t make it all the way through. Is the basic contention that the book of Revelations has already passed as it was written for a conflict prior to 100AD?
Bookmarked for later, thank you.
Before that Christianity was a tad more vigorous and disposing of heretics was done up front with fire and the sword!
Soon as I figure that one out, I'll be moving back to the 200s ~ which gets me a lot closer eh~!

Great book goes into more depth than "The lambs Supper"
Good post; but a rather long read. It’s nice if you can shoot your wad in about 1,000 words. If it’s that good, I’ll buy the book.
Too many people spend too much time trying to “prove” the first chapters of Genesis.
Too many people spend too much time trying to prove the last book of bible, Revelation (Apocalypse).
Too many people spend too much time ignoring what is between these two, and THAT is the important part!
The Sanhedrin, the Jewish supreme court, accused him and tried Him, declined mercy be extended to Him, and convinced Pilate to crucify Him despite Pilate's inclination to release Him. They also accepted the blame even on their children. What "provocation"?
Great post. There are imminence passages in the beginning, middle, and end of Revelation. Rev 1:1 says the book is about events that MUST (not might) shortly take place. Rev 1:11 says that John was in the Tribulation when he was writing. There can be no doubt that the Great City is none other than Jerusalem. When you point these things out to Christians their eyes glaze over like a deer in headlights.
Major view #1 - Historical.
Major view #2 - Futurist.
And the minor views - Preterist, Traditional, and Spiritual.
The author also missed several points that place Revelation in the earlier time frame.
1)The preface says it was written to the 7 Churches in Asia minor, that they know what was coming soon. That pretty much leaves us in 2012 out.
2)John was imprisoned on Patmos twice. First by Nero, the second by Domitian.
3)When John was caught up in the vision, and the angel told him to go measure the Temple, it was the Temple that existed prior to AD70.
4)The 2 witnesses are long gone.
There are numerous more, but these 4 are more than enough to falsify the Futurist view. Some of the other minor views have plausable arguments.
Interesting reading. This Protestant thanks you!
Thanks for this!! I would like to re-post it later for our FRiends to discuss — what do you think?
