The Trinity is most definitely a Catholic thing. The Nicene Creed is Catholic. The Apostles’ Creed is Catholic. The Athanasian Creed is most definitely Catholic. Orthodox Christianity is Catholic. Always has been. Always will be.

When a tree forks, each fork has the same claim to the trunk. Both Catholics and Protestants can legitimately trace their histories back through the Church Fathers to the Apostles. It is not the exclusive property of the Roman Catholic Church.

Both Protestants and Catholics claim to be the trunk.

“it is not the exclusive property of the Church” — on that, this Catholic agrees with you. The Church, orthodoxy (Catholic, Orthodox, Oriental) is the trunk. Some branches of Protestantism branch off from orthodoxy, but are still part of Christianity. Others, like the non-trinitarian views you see here are not part of this tree of Christ...

The Catholic Church is the trunk. Protestantism is just an offshoot.
