“...but according to the many Roman Catholics, neither are any Protestant denominations.”

Tell them to take it up with the Pope.

“It follows that these separated churches and Communities, though we believe they suffer from defects, are deprived neither of significance nor importance in the mystery of salvation. In fact the Spirit of Christ has not refrained from using them as instruments of salvation, whose value derives from that fullness of grace and of truth which has been entrusted to the Catholic Church”— Pope B16, Dominus Iesus

And as far as Christian faiths that teach that another isn’t Christian, there’s a vocal minority of Protestant Christians who go beyond thinking the Church is wrong on many things to thinking Catholics aren’t Christians. FR actually banned some of the things produced from this wackadoo-ism.

If you think that a Trinity means “three gods,” then you don’t begin to understand what is meant by the dogma of the Trinity.

Here’s a great, great book on what is meant by the dogma:

“neither BHO or Romney believe” [in Trinity]

“NOT EXACTLY true. They don’t believe in the traditional doctrine of the Trinity.

Romney believes he can become a god. Obama believes he already is a god.

I find it ironic this is being pointed out by a Catholic who doesn’t seem to have a problem with the DEIFICATION of Mary.”

~ ~ ~

“not exactly true”....

Mormons and Muslims do not believe in the Trinity.

Love the mother, love the Son is a very wise statement. No Christian deifies Our Lord’s mother.

And does Romney think he is never going to be questioned on Mormonism?

Governor Mitt Romney: “I’m proud of my faith. There is nothing I distance myself from. There are Mormons in the leadership of my Church who are pro-choice, and they do not violate that. You’re not a lawyer, but you have to read that a little bit more carefully.”

By the way, people forget that Mitt Romney IS a lawyer.

I noticed your tagline. Does your church teach that God is Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit?

FYI, that tagline was part of MacArthur's closing statement at the Japanese surrender ceremony on board the USS Missouri in 1945.

It actually does. My impression was that the Catholic version involved essentially three deities. Let’s just say that I was exposed to a lot of anti-Catholic material during my church-going days. (It’s also been a while since I’ve looked into the subject, given that I’m a lapsed Protestant)

Get ready to be awakened.

The notion that Catholics deify Mary, or worship her, or think she is the Savior, etc.—All these notions are the accusations of anti-Catholic bigots.

Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Catechism of the Council of Trent from cover to cover, and you will not find a scintilla of a hint of a suggestion that the Catholic Church teaches any of these preposterous notions about Mary.

Unfortunately, you can parse his answer several ways, it doesn’t really clarify. Neither does the rest of the interview.

It’s not the answers I would expect from a strong Christian. But a weak Christian politician might well answer like that.

The rest of the interview reveals that his definition of sin is being out of alignment with his own values, not God’s. It’s the ol’ be true to yourself, that homosexuals use to justify indulging in their most decadent desires.

While scripture says lean not to your own understanding and that man’s heart is inclined to evil and to hide God’s word in your heart to avoid sin.

Based on Obama’s comments and actions, I suspect he is Muslim. But I was just wondering if this article was indicating I had missed something. Apparently not.

They have O on tape saying he is mooselem.

A tenet of that *religion-not* is: anything goes if it suits their cause. Like LIES, MURDERS as in cut off heads, and any other immoral wicked whatever. The guy is a serial lie factory on a daily basis.

There is a list out there of over 20 points that prove in detail and in fact that O is mooslem.

The 4 Mormon Earth Gods:

1. Heavenly Father - used to be a man, became a god.
2. Jesus Christ - created spirit being, via sex, came to earth to get a body, but was not god. Later became a mormon god.
3. Holy Spirit - a created spirit being who did something naughty, and consequently, never scored a physical body. Somehow managed to become a mormon god.
4. Heavenly Mother - used to be a woman, now the “partner” of Heavenly Father, eternally pregnant as a result of celestial sex, churning out a continual flow of “spirit children” who cue up in heaven to be joined to their bodies as women hear on earth get pregnant.

Each is a distinct god - the 4 are not all one god.
1+1+1+1 = 4 mormon earth gods.

But that’s not all. There may be more.

5. Other Heavenly Mothers - since mormonism continues to teach celestial polygamy, there may be more than one Heavenly Mother to be “eternally sealed” to Heavenly Father, having celestial sex to populate the world. There may be many Heavenly Mothers.

6. Mormonism has additional gods - like the one who lives near the planet Kolob. And of course, since mormons believe mormon males, like Mitt, can become mormon gods - complete with Partner Gods, planet, etc (whole starter kit here) - no one really knows if there are a thousand other mormon gods, or a million mormon gods or a trillion mormon gods. Hinduism has 350 million. They may very well be trumped by mormonism.

It’s “a peculiarly Catholic thing”. Protestants believe in it merely by accident. They could have just as easily ditched the belief as they did so many others.

Primitive Christian groups like the Church of God reject the Trinity as well.

I reject the Trinity.

“To my knowledge, the Holy Trinity is a Catholic thing.”

No, actually the Trinity is the only way to go for people who believe in the bible and see Jesus as God incarnate.

The Trinity is supported by all main stream churches, Orthodox and all evangelicals and Pentecostals.

There are a few splinter groups who try to come up with an alternative (Church of God), but it doesn’t wash.

There are huge philosophical advantages to belief in the Trinity. It provides the basis for “unity in diversity” and it the basis of the three separate but equal branches of our government.

It is also the only basis for consciousness — which requires a three in oneness between the observer, the thing observed and the means of observing. Without a trinity of the mind thought would be impossible.

Here is an essay that I wrote on the Trinity. http://gillespiepoems.blogspot.com/2012/06/of-many-worlds-comments-on-nature-of.html

I hate to spoil your orthodox confab, but the “Feast of the Holy Trinity” is nowhere found in Scripture.
