(ThyBlackMan.com) If you remember during the 2008 Presidential election, there was a strong effort to try to expose the faith of then Senator Obama. Many tried to label him an extremist because of his connection with the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright.
I am curious to know if Mitt Romney will receive the same type of treatment given the lack of knowledge that most Americans have about the Mormon faith. I think that faith must be on the table since it was a factor in the previous election. Perhaps the reason it has not be raised is because the GOP leaders know that up to 25% of their base absolutely will not vote for a Mormon regardless of his credentials.
Lets take a look at some of the beliefs of GOP Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney Mormons faith. All of the information provided was taken from the Mormon Faith Tenets.
According a Christian Post article, What do Mormons Believe? Ex-Mormon speaks out, October 18, 2011 by reporter Devenish the following items were cited about Mormon beliefs:
I took the time to itemize some of the different beliefs that Mitt Romney believes in to show that he is not a perfect candidate just because he seemingly names the name of Christ. We have to be careful with the Trojan Horses the GOP sends our way in the name of religion.
I challenge all of the African American pastors to consider if they want to vote for someone who believes totally different from what they preach every Sunday. If you can vote for Mitt Romney with a clear conscience knowing his religious beliefs, his insensitive policies that do not benefit the African American community then go for it. If you have reservations, then you must consider our current commander and chief.

Right, I’m a corporation. You’re an idiot then.
Not to worry; as Mama Bird will PUSH you out when you eat more worms than she can carry.
I may be an idiot, but at least I have points to my posts.
;-)
I can remember when JFK was elected. People were crying about his religion. The pope did not run American when JFK was prez.
In your own words, please explain how quoting the Bible is “perverse”.
Mormonism draws “away disciples”, from the “rock” upon which Christ built His church.
What does an opinion about how things are being run at FR have to do with what you call my superiority? Can’t you have a response without making accusations about someone you don’t even know.
Are you the toll taker? I’ve given for a long time, maybe even more money than you. I don’t know. So now no one is allowed to come to FR without donating? Make it a subscription then. No one is asking Jim to change his views, just don’t bash someone, especially personally, if they have a different opinion.

I am not interested nor do I care what you or anyone like you has to say about anything at all.
Do not post to me again, LEAVE ME ALONE.
Religion Moderator, I would really appreciate if you would ask this person not to post to me again, I have nothing to discuss with him, and I don’t appreciate being spammed by him.
This is, I believe more of mormonism attempting to force Christian belief into a form to fit the mormonism box. by careful editing.
The ACTUAL comment from the link you posted to The Advent, Catholic Encylopedia is THIS:
"Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed: "the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God." In this Trinity of Persons the Son is begotten of the Father by an eternal generation, and the Holy Spirit proceeds by an eternal procession from the Father and the Son. Yet, notwithstanding this difference as to origin, the Persons are co-eternal and co-equal: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent. This, the Church teaches, is the revelation regarding God's nature which Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came upon earth to deliver to the world: and which she proposes to man as the foundation of her whole dogmatic system."
I proudly support Romney for President. I am a God, Family, Country, Life & Liberty conservative.

If you are “God, Family, Country, Life & Liberty conservative” then why are you ‘proudly supporting’ someone who is none of those things? Romney believes in a false god (actually several of them), family gets thrown out the window if someone leaves ‘the Church’, he is pro abortion and pro gay marriage and definitely NOT a conservative.
Very true.
I also find it interesting you left off the very next line...
Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed: “the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God.”
Do you believe that as well...
Your peers and even your doctrine says otherwise.
The Trinity has a very distinct definition in Christianity, and it is not one that espouses polytheism...
"interesting"? Maybe.
Surprising? Hardly.
A purposeful ommission of relevant facts or context is deceit.
I’m going to save your responses in the event I ever need a good example of irrational religious bias.
I firmly believe that Romney’s religion will impact his decision making as president in the same way JFK’s Catholicism affected his decision making, i.e., not at all.
I can find no example from Romney’s term as governor that Mormonism influenced his administration. Can you? If you can’t, why? According to your thesis, such influence should be obvious, apparent and plentiful. Where is it?
The pope did not run American when JFK was prez.

And there are HUGE differences between Catholicism and Mormonism and between the Pope and LDS prophet.
Some points of departure
1) Several LDS congress critters HAVE ADMITTED to being pushed and ordered to vote the way the Mormon prophet wanted them to (Bob Bennett being one) and doing so even if it violated their conscience.
2) 13 Mormon congress critters WENT as a delegation to Switzerland to lobby for an exmption JUST FOR THE LDS CHURCH to a law that affects ALL RELIGIONS and missionary work.
3) The Pope is in Europe, the LDS prophet is in Utah.
4) JFK did not take a blood oath to put the LDS church (not God not Christ) above EVERYTHING. Mitt did.
5) The LDS church still teaches that they will take over the US Government during the Millenium and Christ will rule from Missiori.
I can source all of these things and more.
You are comparing apples and grenades...
...it appears that the bashing of Romney and Mormonism is about all we get here.
So?
What do you WANT??
then POST it!!
Then why don’t you just leave the thread chris?
I understand not being able to defend Mormonism. I’ve been there too and just wanted those who told me the truth to just ‘leave me alone’. Now I am glad they didn’t.
