SEE! Didn't take but a minute before some deluded soul jumped in to prove my point...
So true grey so very true.
a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia,

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
so when they landed elsewhere, Jesse de Forest, the French Calvinist, living in Leyden (Amsterdam) in 1621, petitioned the English Ambassador to The Netherlands for permission to take a group of French and Dutch Wallons/Huguenots to Virginia...
56 Walloons signed the “Round Robin” to go with him..
When that didnt work out, the Dutch allowed them to go to what would become NYC...
In 1623 they set out with at least 2 ships, the Nieuw Nederlandt which went to “New Netherland” with 30 families and the Pigeon which went to Dutch Guania in South America to drop of some families there..
The English raced them across but the Nieuw Nederlandt arrived in NYC first...
Jesse de Forest died in South America and never made it to NYC although he is credited with bringing the first European settlers...men, wonen and children to NYC...
BTW in 1850 the Canterbury Compact for 16 ships sent by the Church of England to New Zealand was based loosely on the Mayflower Compact but with a warning not to end up as they did.
When the First Four Ships (the Summer Ships) arrived in Lyttleton harbour in December 1850, there were already houses, stores, wharves, and some streets laid out for them...
The church had sent carpenters and engineers on ahead to build a town...
It worked...
The first major city, Christchurch, was a success from the start...
Even if my “labourer” family did have to live in a tent in Hagley Park for the first few weeks...
They too succeeded with the first hotel and ferry on the Rakaia River...

Interesting how you tie all that Huguenaut data you’ve been collect together with the History of New Zealand. As a Kiwi, you were probably taught more History og your country than American kids get on American History nowadays.
Sorry to hear you have that kind of heat. Heat has been working on our little project down here. The tomatoes are starting to come on now, At 5600 feet we cannot plant before May 15-20.

Nope.
I’m leery of an epoxy type thing holding back gasoline for any length of time.
I just went to their web site.
They do claim that one of their products works on gas tanks, so if this thing is STILL leaking, I will DEFINITELY try that stuff!
Then plead with you to go away and leave them alone!!
PATHETIC!

The
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
SECTION 71
Revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet and Sidney Rigdon, at Hiram, Ohio, December 1, 1831. HC 1: 238239. The Prophet had continued to translate the Bible with Sidney Rigdon as his scribe until this revelation was received, at which time it was temporarily laid aside so as to enable them to fulfill the instruction given herein. The brethren were to go forth to preach in order to allay the unfriendly feelings that had developed against the Church as a result of the publication of some newspaper articles by Ezra Booth, who had apostatized.
14, Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon are sent forth to proclaim the gospel; 511, Enemies of the saints shall be confounded.
1 Behold, thus saith the Lord unto you my servants Joseph Smith, Jun., and Sidney Rigdon, that the time has verily come that it is necessary and expedient in me that you should open your mouths in proclaiming my gospel, the things of the kingdom, expounding the mysteries thereof out of the scriptures, according to that portion of Spirit and power which shall be given unto you, even as I will.
2 Verily I say unto you, proclaim unto the world in the regions round about, and in the church also, for the space of a season, even until it shall be made known unto you.
3 Verily this is a mission for a season, which I give unto you.
4 Wherefore, labor ye in my vineyard. Call upon the inhabitants of the earth, and bear record, and prepare the way for the commandments and revelations which are to come.
5 Now, behold this is wisdom; whoso readeth, let him understand and receive also;
6 For unto him that receiveth it shall be given more abundantly, even power.
7 Wherefore, confound your enemies; call upon them to meet you both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their shame shall be made manifest.
8 Wherefore, let them bring forth their strong reasons against the Lord.
9 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto youthere is no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper;
10 And if any man lift his voice against you he shall be confounded in mine own due time.
11 Wherefore, keep my commandments; they are true and faithful. Even so. Amen.

I just LOVE history!
One learns the most interesting things!
I especially like hearing about folks who were the leaders - the explorers - to do something.
It must have been something like The Final Frontier - going where no man had gone before!
(Uh....
You didn’t just make this up as you went; did you??)
Did you import dirt to place in those nicely constructed boxes?
Got some mighty fine looking plants there!
At least you have no worries from the neighbors 60 acres fields of corn or soybeans; when the agricultural spraying drifts over onto your plants.
We have a compost pile that gets filled with leaves and all the lawn clippings. I amend it with sandstone sand and a small bit of bentonite. Then I dig to the bottom of the pit and turn it over regularly with my trusty Kubota bucket.
The boxes are 2x10’s from the Roundy lumber mill in Glendale.
During the high temps in the last two weeks we have had to water almost every day. Last night we added fresh green onions to a Binger green salad. Success at last!

You can use a very thng strip of metal to 'fill out' the inner core of the cylinder if the inside is worn down and the fit is loose ont he post. Or you can wrap a layer of tinfoil on the post and push the cylinder down onto the post after the Weld has dried good ... allow 24 hours before using the glued piece.
If the cylinder has broken into two or more pieces, glue the pieces back with a touch of super glue on the separation surfaces, wrap the cylinder with a twist-tie, onece around, until it is solidly glued, then do the JB Weld wrap of the outside of the cylinder but you don't need to use the twist-tie for holding while setting.
