From Wikipedia about Moroni: "a religious and military leader from the Book of Mormon who rallied people to successfully defend their freedoms and religious freedoms against enemies from within who wanted to overthrow a government by the people in favor of establishing a king."
"According to the Book of Mormon, Captain Moroni was an important Nephite military commander and patriot... He is perhaps best known for raising the "Title of Liberty" as a call to arms for his people to defend their country, family and religion."
. . . Moroni was "only twenty and five years old when he was appointed chief captain" of the Nephites. . . .
"Moroni is usually associated with the "Title of Liberty", a standard [flag] which he raised to rally the Nephites to defend their liberties from a group of dissenters who wanted to establish their leader as a king. Moroni was so angry with Amalickiah's dissention and wicked influence that he rent his coat and wrote upon it, "In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children". With these words, he rallied his people to defend their families and their freedom, chasing the armies of Amalickiah away in the process. Any dissenters that remained, Moroni put to death, and raised up the title of liberty upon every Nephite tower, having been granted power from the chief judges and people to do such things."
This story may be of interest to some given what is happening today, with enemies of freedom, liberty and religious freedom seeking to change from government by the people per our constitution into a government wherein top leaders and powerful friends are above law.
No, I am NOT suggesting violence; just sharing a story from a different time and place.

Seriously?
Cool. Where are the ruins of these Nephite cities located, so I can go and visit the place of this great victory for liberty?
I once had a gal named Bony Moroni.
Ping to a thread about the Marvelous Angel Moroni ... who for some mysterious reason never had to wear the sacred garments when alive ... and never attained exaltation after death ... despite leading a righteous life in the Americas and ministering unto Joseph Smith at a critical moment during the founding of Mormonism.

I’m confused.
I thought Moroni was a Captain of the Nephites.
Now you’re telling me he was an angel, who somehow missed out on going to Heaven, or is it Kolub?
I’m so confused.....
It doesn’t need to make sense. It’s the cult of Joseph Smith.

Welcome to the club!
Moroni is the name of two mythical characters invented by Joseph Smith in his Book of Mormon.
According to Joseph, the first Moroni was a Captain of the Nephites. The second Moroni was Mormon's son, one of the commanders of the last great battle, who finished and then hid the golden plates upon which the Book of Mormon text was written. Moroni supposed appeared as an angel to Joseph centuries after his death and led Joseph to the plates, etc. More on the tale HERE.
My comment concerning Moroni's lack of Sacred Garments pertains to the fact he is never portrayed in the clothing despite the fact their wearing is decreed as necessary following the temple endowments ... which Moroni surely went through like all other good Latter Day Saints. Mormons have never been able to tell me why the requirement was waived for him.
My comment concerning Moroni's status in the afterlife concerns his appearance to Joseph as an Angel rather than as a god. One would think that Moroni would have had his own celestial kingdom planet and harem of goddess wives by that point. Again, the Saints have no good answer.
Personally, I think that neither the garb requirements or the celestial kingdom had been invented by Joseph at the time he wrote the BoM. And personally, I find the mental image of a bunch of pre-Columbian aboriginal people running about in trap door long johns ... delightsome!
She passed away a few years ago, so I guess that means the place of the great Mormon victory is lost forever.
If I were going to design underwear to be worn by multiple wives, I think I’d come up with something - dare I say it? - a bit more kinky.
"HRRrrrrghhhhuuuuuuugh! (Hic!)HRRRGGGHhhhuuuuuugh!"
All this trouble because of a faux conservative and his cult...
Lord have mercy on what's left of America...
