Thank you, Mark. Well-written. While I am still of the opinion the Pope Leo XIII had it best in the Syllabus of Errors, we live in a country where freedoms are quickly being illicitly restricted and removed. The parallels to late eighteenth century France and early twentieth century Mexico are difficult to ignore. The author is certainly correct that the course is one of resistance and perseverance, as well as prayer. One thing I might add: I personally think that, no matter what, we must resist. If the administration offers exceptions but keeps all of these things in place, no dice. If it becomes worse (as I expect it will), we must not cooperate. It is far better to try to do Our Lord’s will than the government’s.
