Two weeks ago after an argument, our 18 year old son left home and moved in with his 17 year old girlfriend and her divorced mother. He has been the model son, always kind and polite to everyone. Once he started dating her, about two years ago, his attitude towards our family began to slowly change. He started losing his long time friends, breaking his curfew and lying about his whereabouts. He had never mistreated us before this, now he is verbally abusive towards his mom and sisters and will not speak to me.

May the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph bless your son with love and understanding and bring him back home.
Prayers lifted for you and your family. There are few times that are harder on parents, FRiend, than when the children we love so deeply, struggle to make their way on their own.

I don’t know what I would do without my freeper family. My difficulties can seem so tiny compared to the troubles others are going through but I know that He wants us to call on Him when we need help.
I know that each of us have our share of trouble and I ask that God Bless and keep each of you.
My son married a slut I warned hiom against, but sex is a strong attraction for a young man.
When the little head is doing their thinking for them , you haven’t a chance until she screws him over.
In my case she screwed him over several times before he got the message.
Certainly I will pray she does it soon, and he wakes up while he is still young.
Your son and your family are added to my prayers. Keep the lines of communication open and assure him of your love, but as others have said do not allow him to mistreat you or the rest of your family.
I pray for you and your family to have the patience and wisdom to outlast your ordeal and come out stronger for it. And I’d also add that I’d bet your end of the argument was trying to be a good parent rather than a ‘friend’ as far too many parents are these days. If so, you did the right thing. Stay strong and God Bless You. In Jesus name. Amen.

Prayers for Liam and you and your family.
Please try to stay in touch with your son and maintain your status in the family of loving your son and being an authority figure that is there to help when needed.
Liam and his girlfriend are so very young and are more than likely influenced by the ‘cool mom’. We have had similar things happen and now the kids are doing well. It is hard but, sometimes you need to let the kids make the mistakes that they are going to make. Stay strong for all.

Teenagers often make horrible mistakes they may soon come to regret, but are often still too immature to know how to rectify on their own.
Hearts can mend, eventually.
