Science is only science if it is done scientifically. Those are not my terms. One cannot play checkers and insist to the world that it is chess. Chess has its own rules.
Presupposition of supernatural means to explain physical phenomena is not now and never will be “science”.
Because such supernatural means are capricious, unpredictable and non-replicable - such supposition will lead nowhere as far as further discovery and useful applications.
However physical means are understandable, predictable and replicable - and so such a system leads to reliable and useful knowledge about the physical world.
That is why Science is of use and Creationism is useless.
OOOOOOHHHMMMM.... “science is of use and creationism is useless” OOOOOOOOHHHHMMMM
Look doofus, no one is saying supernatural activity is continuing today. Stop misrepresenting what others believe.
Are you claiming that evolution is steady, predictable and replicable?
If you are going to speak of "utility" it is necessary to agree on what constitutes Good.
Science strikes me as having been perverted into a Faustian bargain:
O what a world of profit and delight,
Of power, of honour, of omnipotence
Is promised to the studious artisan!
All things that move between the quiet poles
Shall be at my command: emperors and kings
Are but obeyed in their serveral provinces,
Nor can they raise the wind, or rend the clouds;
But his dominion that exceeds in this
Stretcheth as far as doth the mind of man:
A sound magician is a mighty god.
Here Faustus, try thy brains to gain a deity.
The mistake is thinking that one *must* deny the existence of the Supernatural, or of God or Satan, to practice science: still less that one must (in effect) sell one's soul to do so.
That part is only necessary to feed the concomitant intellectual pride.
Cheers!
