Look, Mormonism is weird, but ALL theology is weird to someone else.
Did you know that the Catholics believe that when they bless that wafer it actually becomes the physical flesh of Jesus Christ? (Tongue firmly in cheek here.)
I’m not saying that to snark at Catholics, I just wanted to point out that every religion that I am aware of has a few points in it’s collective closets that seem incomprehensible to outsiders.

People are free to believe what ever the choose in this nation and we don’t want to say some religions are so weird that an adherent can’t hold office.
You are right that every religion has attributes that seem weird to outsiders.
But, the issue that concerns many of us is how the weirdness of Mormonism will be used against Romney as our candidate. When people find out what Mormon’s believe (not just historically but NOW) it will destroy Romney’ credibility. We can’t take that risk in this crucial election.

A Catholic will own those beliefs and give justification for it. Mormons will not own any teachings unless they think you are ready. One hallmark of Mormonism is the inability to argue with facts. History is not kind to the Mormon apologist.
The mere existance of the LDS church is a full frontal attack on Christianity. It makes a LDS caucus thread near impossible to post based on the vile hatred for Christians that Mormonism is based on.

Mormonism is not just weird - it is a false religion. Christians are commanded in the Bible to rebuke false teachers and proclaim the Truth.
I don’t find it sad at all that less mormons post here. In fact, my heart’s desire is that all mormons leave their false religion and embrace the Truth of Biblical Christianity.
