...the US military has been prohibited from helping the local Christians by the administrations of both Bush and Obama. Two years ago, the distribution of Bibles was banned in Iraq, and even the sale to the military of assault weapons with Bible verses on them was stopped. In Egypt, the new authorities helped and financed by the Obama administration and supported internationally by Hillary Clinton, encouraged pogroms against the traditional Christian minority in the country, the Copts. It seems that one of the main strategic goals for the US military presence in the Middle East is the eradication of traditional Christianity there. Which also gives us some foresight of one of the possible outcomes of a war with Iran and the occupation of Iranian territory. Iran has a large Christian minority which, while under oppression, is left relatively alone by the authorities. If Afghanistan and Iraq can teach us anything, a US military invasion will only lead to its extermination. Thats what so many evangelical voters who vote for neo-conservative war-mongers refuse to even consider. The conversion of a Kuwaiti prince is important news. It is shameful that the American church is not there with its missionaries to complete the task but supports the war drums banging of the liberal-progressive government in Washington DC.
I doubt if he will be much longer on this earth. Fatwa anyone?
Brave man. I will pray for him.
And you are right. We have spent a lot of blood and treasure setting up a caliphate in the Middle East. What we have done to and allowed to happen to Christians in Iraq is a crime.
Dead man walking??
I’ll bet......but Praise God!
Another brother in heaven, and he is probably well known, so his testimony could be a light for others!
Jesus said...I know my own.
Actually he is one of the few Saudis who truly know life, and in Christ he will remain alive even if they kill the body.
Probably a Bronco Fan.
People on this forum love to bash Ron Paul, but I have belatedly come to believe that maybe he has it right. Anyway, our nation is bankrupt. There are heroic people like this Kuwaiti who will die for the truth without our help; why should we spend trillions supporting loathsome "Islamic republics"?
Put the crack pipe down, Paul hasn’t legalized it yet.
At the very least, I think hellbender’s last question is on point
If the Jews of America are more interested in advancing communism at home and abroad than in the welfare of the "Jewish state,", then why should Christian conservatives make the survival of Israel more important than U.S. interests and those of our Christian brethren? I think it's time we got away from slogans and looked at facts.
Anyone who says we had no business stopping Hitler and the Nazis has zero credibility.
Go electrocute some rich white guys and stop wasting our time.
Besides, we need to go back farther, and see the roots of WW II in WW I. The U.S. had no dog in that fight. Germany was not the monster it became under National Socialism. American business interests were making billions supplying the British Empire while Germany had its back to the wall. Small wonder that Germany began sinking ships supplying the Brits. We asked for it.
People bash Ron Paul for saying what anyone knowledgeable about humanity would know: that people are ethnocentric, that they will defend their nation against outsiders. They do not forget the people who defeated them. They will seek revenge.
Are you willing to nuke a billion people who are Muslims?
Maybe if we are seriously opposed to the spread of Islam then we should block immigration of this cult into our own country. But Bush and his neo-con cronies assured us that Islam was a "religion of peace," and they did nothing to stop its invasion of our own land.
The agency broadcasted an audio file where the prince declared, First of all, I totally agree with the distribution of this audio file and I now declare that if they kill me because of this audio file, then Ill go into the presence of Jesus Christ and be with him for all eternity.
He also said, Im satisfied with whatever they do to me, because the truth in the Bible has guided me to the right way.
Thank You for this article. I will be prayering for him.
No, in fact history shows that we did nothing to stop the killing of Jews. Why do you assume it's only about Jews? Why do Ron Paul and his followers hate Jews so much?
Regardless of how you try to dress it up, Ron Paul says he's just fine with Nazi rule over all of Europe and Asia. He's a complete goddamn idiot as are his acolytes. There's no excuse for his stupidity or this evil notion of letting Nazis butcher whoever they like b/c George Washington (in the 18th Century) felt it wasn't a good idea to get involved with other nations' disputes. Ron Paul needs to study the quote "The Constitution is not a suicide pact" very, very carefully.
I can't even get started on how stupid his idea is that if we just leave Muslims alone that they'd leave us alone. That is beyond stupid, well into suicidal. Whether our prior foreign policy caused the current animosity or not is irrelevant. The REALITY is that Muslims want us all dead or converted. Ron Paul's head would be on the chopping block as fast anyone else's, so I don't know why he pursues this idiocy.
And why do we care about Israel? Because if God is with them, it would be in our best interest to be with them, too. If you don't believe that, then we're speaking Russian to each other, anyway.
A very brave man, wish I could say the same for some Americans who firmly believe that Islam is inevitable in time of being the sole ruling cult on earth.
Islam is a disease that will kill the planet if left unchecked and unchallenged.
Answer there is a difference between national security/defense and bribing other nations to be our friends with goodwill welfare payments.
The first one, I am in favor of doing, the last one, I am not.
When the Vatican lodged its objections to the invasion of Iraq in 2003, they were roundly excoriated on this board.
What they feared, and warned of -- the end of a Christian community in Iraq that dated from the time of the Apostles -- has exactly come to pass, and everyone now admits it.
Much of U.S. policy in the Middle East post-9/11 has been a huge win for al Qaeda and the Iranians.
