Do you have to be temple worthy in order to qualify to be a god?

Sandra Tanner is in the video. She is a PhD in Mormonism (equivalent).
Utah Lighthouse Ministries.

When the Mormons were buying into the white salamander letter. She was. Of record that she thought it was a fraud. The church at the time said it was for real.

Actually the ‘source’ is Sandra Tanner, foremost authority on Mormon history and doctrine. She and her late husband started Utah Lighthouse Ministry 40 years ago.

She is the best source for Mormon doctrine.

Yes.

You need to be perfect.

And that means -- to the Mormon -- fulfilling ALL of your covenants, your sealings, your obligations, your rituals, etc.

If you can't get into the temple, then none of the temple endowments and temple sealings & rituals can be performed. That includes marriage for eternity and having your kids sealed to you. And without all that, there's no "Family" for you to populate your own planet.

Mit Romney... he believes with all his heart that he is a so-called "god" in the making. He also believes his wife is going to perpetually pump out "spirit children" like the queen alien from the movie "ALIENS" in order to "populate" the planet he is going to become "god" of. The primary purpose of these so-called "spirit children" is to WORSHIP and SERVE "god Mit" for all of eternity! And this is the man we are supposed to support and vote for for president!

Over my dead body! Anyone voting for Mit Romney = this heretical, theological reprobate needs to have his head examined.

How many LDS gods are there? - the answer is equal to the same number of devils / demons in the heavenly realm under the control of Satan.

I imagine John Ankerburg is a typical gutless leftie.

If he has cajones, let’s hear his report on the moon god, Allah.

Oy! Of the current number of Mormons through out the world what percentage meet those rigorous requirements?

Short answer? NONE!!!!

****************

A lengthier "explanation"...well, read on:

You see, Mormons don't think that ALL spiritual obligations need to be met in this world. That gives them "spiritual cover."

So, how do they do that functionally? What do Mormons do to put off having to think about the need to be perfect to be a grown-up god?

#1...they engage in convenient procrastination in the exact same way evolutionists use "time" to explain creation of the earth and of people. They essentially claim that being a grown-up god will take eons of development. It's not going to happen "overnight." Give it enough time, and Mormons will "evolve" into godhood.

Note this is the exact same lie Satan has used to convince many of the lie of evolution. Oh, give the earth "enough time" to develop minus a Creator, eons and eons of time, and it will, "poof!" It'll happen!

Hence, even in the "spirit world" teaching of Mormonism (the spirit world being the immediate place where all dead spirits supposedly go), they say ALL will go there! No exceptions. EVERYBODY will start off in the spirit world!

#2, Mormons play tricks with a single word that pops up both in the Book of Mormon and the Bible. That word? The word "be" in Matthew 5:48 -- also found in the Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi 12:48.

What "game" do Mormons play with that word "be?" (They redefine it, process-wise, as "become").

The demand by Jesus is to BE perfect. NOW. Not "become" perfect some distant day. Mormons don't like that so they twist and distort the plain meaning of "be."

I covered this on a recent thread: The futility of playing spiritual whack a mole [Lds BoM study 1/8/12; Be perfect vs. becoming it]

Here's an excerpt from the article in that thread: ... one of the most famous commands in the Bible, Matthew 5:48. “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” This is commanding nothing less than perfection – right now! Although many Mormons over the years have tried to explain this as a command to become perfect, that is not what Jesus said. He said “be” – not “become”. Neither does the Joseph Smith translation say “become”. It reads: “Ye are therefore commanded to be perfect.” Therefore, according to 1 Nephi 3:7, God has given people a way to be perfect, not sometime in the distant future, but right now. And if a person isn’t perfect right now, it’s because they are not using the way God has already given them.

You see one of the purposes of Jesus' sharing the demands of the law -- be perfect -- Matthew 5:48 -- is to realize that we can never reach them with our own home-made righteousness.

Home-made ice cream might be mighty fine; home-made righteousness is a crock.

That's why the apostle Paul said: 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has BECOME FOR US wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. (1 Cor. 1:30)

"In Christ" -- perhaps the apostle Paul's most favorite phrase.

Mormon (and other) lurkers out there: Take it from the apostle Paul...not me but Paul in 1 Cor. 1:30. Jesus has become our...
...righteousness
...holiness
...redemption.

Why? Because we don't -- and can't -- measure up to God's perfect standard for that...at least to live with Him forever, that is!

Trust Jesus, our Righteous One. Trust Jesus, our Holy One. Trust Jesus, our ONE and ONLY Redeemer! You can't redeem yourself. You can't make yourself "worthy" in God's eyes; (He already knows you perfectly through and through). God doesn't grade on a curve. He says "BE perfect."

We can ONLY "be perfect" "IN CHRIST." When our Father in heaven looks at us, He sees our substitute-Advocate, Jesus, who is for us our righteousness and our holiness. A "saint" can ONLY be a saint "in Christ."

Jack, you always seem to ask the right questions!
