I dont like dredging up that whole war on Christmas thing, but (with apologies in advance to Allahpundit) this story kind of gets under my skin. In Santa Monica, California, there is apparently one particular stretch of road alongside a park which has traditionally been set aside for Christmas displays. The nativity scenes on display have been popular with residents and tourists. But in order to be fair to everyone, the city used a lottery to allocate space to groups wishing to put up Creche displays and related scenes. Now, a group of atheists are accused of swamping the lottery and taking over the lots.
This year, however, atheists have taken over most of the two-block stretch, nearly shutting out and angering a group of churches who contend the atheists have organized against the Christians and gamed a city lottery process allocating the holiday exhibit space.
In response, a leader of the atheist group says hes just looking for evenhanded treatment to present his beliefs in a public space and goes so far as to say that the city shouldnt even be allowing any religious or even atheist expression in the park.
Thats why he and his group have put nothing on half of the park exhibit spaces that theyve secured from the city this year.
The atheists are declaring the politically left-leaning seaside town of Santa Monica as their latest battleground in a national movement to assert their rights.
Im part of a growing movement in America of atheists standing up for their rights. Its a very exciting time for us that were having more of an impact in our society, said Damon Vix, the organizer of the atheist group.
Yes, youre having a big impact on the local society, alright. Youre getting everyone angry at you and ruining their holiday season to no apparent purpose. In the interview, Mr. Vix makes it clear that he has no interest in seeing other peoples views being represented he just doesnt want the Christians to use it.
In the interest of fairness, I could see if competing groups wanted to use some of the lots for an alternative display. If somebody wants to put up a big menorah on one of the lots, I dont think anyone is going to get too worked up over it. And for these atheists, if they had something in mind as an alternative message
even a Festivus pole and a wrestling mat for some feats of strength, Id probably have to give them some support. But to lock off the land to leave it empty rather than allow a nativity scene? Thats not some fight for equality or freedom. Thats just being a Grinch.
What are they so afraid of, hmmm?
Must be something they can’t see, hmmm.
P.S. Believers also have rights so there
will be NO giving up to the evil in your hearts.
These people are their own worst enemy. There are none so blind as those who will not see.
I have to constantly renind myself that our beautiful Lord came to save people like this. I believe without seeing.
So, God bless us all...EVERYONE and Merry Christmas.
Just wondering how they spend Christmas at home.

I'm sorry for these angry, bitter, vengeful losers. They are the ones who are really losing; they cannot erase God or His message either from the world, or the hearts of those who have faith in Him.
Another day...another reason to be glad I moved the Hell out of California.
Alone.

Merry Christmas!
Every Californian angry about this, with a front yard or a front window, should just put up a nativity scene.
All those in a church should try to organize one for their church; particularly a live nativity, which is lovely.
Also private groups/organizations.
We could have more nativity scenes and re-telling of the nativity story than ever in history if we put our anger into positively just taking care of business.
Don’t rely on the state to help you spread the gospel. Utilize it if you can, but don’t waste energy on it.
They're afraid it's true. If they weren't, they wouldn't bother.
This people go out of their way to publicly prove their stupidity and childish demeanor.
Find one of those plots or spaces that has been allotted to an anti-theist who loves 'occupy'.
A few hours each evening, from a local diverse church group, bring real live people to play all the parts and sing songs. A Hispanic baby Jesus. Three Wise men, from China, India, even Iran etc. Have fun singing Christmas songs for an hour or so. "We Three Kings" could be funny. Ham it up. Spoof whatever one can, tweak their atheist little noses in such a way they would be embarrassed to complain. Then, once you've gotten their attention, sing the best, most worshipful stuff one can, with all your heart.
Create a mild ruckus. If the act was good enough, get the news cameras down there, hehheh... Occupy! THERE WAS NO ROOM AT THE INN FOR THE BABY, so we were forced to occupy this space!
Mary & Joseph, or one of the shepherds to atheists, "what do you have against poor innocent mexican babies?" "what are you, some kind of anti-immigrant racist bigot?".
It could be fun. Maybe next year...
.....Or so they claim.
A GOOD and BLESSED MERRY CHRISTMAS! Jesus Christ is BORN TODAY! GIVE HIM GLORY!
He who never thirsts for God here, will thirst for Him before he has been dead
a minute.

Only if we let them. Besides, they have their own day, April 1!
Well said my FRiend.
Merry CHRISTmas to you and yours!
All you have to do is have every Christian put up a nativity scene in front of their churches and houses.
