>As Christmas shoppers flock to stores, the familiar sights and sounds of Salvation Army bell-ringers with red kettles will prompt many to toss in their coins and remember the less fortunate. But not everyone is in a giving mood.
MSNBC.com reported last week that some LGBT activists are urging people to ignore the bell-ringers because the Salvation Army holds Biblical views that the activists claim are bigoted. The Salvation Army adamantly denies that it discriminates against anyone, including LGBT, who seeks its services or programs. Gay leaders are not satisfied.
Andy Thayer, co-founder of the Gay Liberation Network, said, We are urging a boycott of the Salvation Army because it uses its selective interpretation of the Bible to promote discrimination against LGBT people in employment benefits and leadership positions within the Army.
Thayers call is being echoed by gay leaders such as Bill Browning, editor-in-chief of the influential LGBT blog The Bilerico Project, who recently posted a piece titled, Why You Shouldnt Donate to the Salvation Army Bell-Ringers.
Like most churches, the Salvation Army affirms the sanctity of traditional marriage. It also believes that it is wrong to demean or mistreat people for any reason, including sexual orientation.
Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, said the boycott is yet another example of political correctness punishing those who seek to share Gods unconditional love with the hurting.
Its a sad day in America when gay rights become more important than giving to the needy, he said.

Perhaps you can drop in a few extra bucks for the LBGT grinches who won’t be giving this year.
Am planning to do just that!!!
;-)))
We're all doomed.
Of course the views they hold about homos are bigoted! They are Biblical and it is a Christian group. No problem. The gays can go raise their own money for gayness.
I just donated to S. A. not 30 minutes ago. And, I will do it again.
Andy Thayer is a hate-filled bigot.
It amazes me when people can’t see that about themselves.
Like that’s going to hurt. The homos don’t donate anyway.
And who wants to handle disease infested money anyway?
“Gay leaders are not satisfied.”
Are they ever?
The S.A. is one of those groups I always try to donate to, even if I only have a couple of bucks in my pocket. That’s not going to change because some group disagrees with their values.
Our Church is providing bell ringers for the Salvation Army.
“...You don’t need to seek answers about our nation when it the Salvation Army becomes labeled as a problem group....”
Actually, it speaks volumes as to how far we’ve slid down the slippery slope as a society. Tolerance for this kind of garbage is getting really old in many folks’ mind. Change is coming but not the kind they seek.
I just gave them two couches in mint condition, some picture frames which were still in their original boxes and other items. Hope they sell it for lots of $$. I have no regrets giving to such a good organization.
I will let my church fellowship know about this boycott on Shabbat so we can give them something extra.
I make it a point of emptying my pockets of change into the kettle, regardless of how much change that may be, which is usually more than a handful.
So true. I know gay people would be offended by this. The gay mafia makes all the noise.
According to the “patron saint” of the LGBTV community only 10% of the population are “queer” so why are the LGBT groups so mad at the 90% of everyone else who need help because the 10% are somehow “excluded”?
Aren’t they supposed to be supporting the 90-somethign percent like their friends at OWS?
That means we need to give more!!!!!!
My guess is that the faggots found out that the Salvation Army is projecting somewhat lower than usual donation levels, due to the continuing bad Obama-conomy.
Then, when the final totals are announced as slightly lower than normal, the fairies will claim it shows big support for their cause.
It’s just how their perverted minds work.
We're all doomed.
Throw the Boy Scouts in there, too. I guess anything that has ever appeared in a Norman Rockwell painting is now "bad".
We will contribute more at the kettles this year.
It’s always all about them and their perversion. I still can’t understand why anyone listens to these nuts.
