I think that some won’t accept as valid any doctrinal position that falls outside an accepted orthodoxy. I know that I don’t believe in exactly the same doctrine as a Catholic, an Eastern Orthodox, a Southern Baptist, etc. — but I think it’s fair to consider us all Christians, since we believe in Christ as the central figure of our faiths.
Christ did speak of false teachers teaching false Christs. Is it your position that the Christ that mainstream Christianity worships is one of those false Christs?
If that is your position then what is the basis for those beliefs?
Christians believe that the Mormon Christ is a false Christ because Mormons describe Christ in very different terms and actions from that of the bible.
I am in no way trying to be offensive. So I hope that I am not coming across that way. I just want to understand the facts.
The use of of such statements in the context of this or any discussion of the differences between Mormonism and Christianity serves only one purpose. It distorts everyone's view. It is an attempt to mask the truth from view. The use of a lie so colossal that no one would believe that someone could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.
Mormonism has separated itself from Christianity since its inception.
The foundational stories of Mormonism are antithetical to Christian doctrine and overtly hostile to the history of the Christian church.
Central doctrines of Mormonism are irreconcilable with Christian doctrine.
The colassal whopper that IS Mormonism is that its founder had the revelation that all of Christendom was/is in error.
Mormonism's missionary doublespeak to the world is that Mormonism IS Christianity and the Orthodox/Catholic/Protestant world is "traditional" Christianity (i.e., all traditionally in error).
By its own defining history and doctrines, Mormonism is no part of the Christian church.
There is no "you" in "us".
While Christianity considers Him to be the ONLY figure of our faith.
There are defined doctrines that DO define the Christian faith.
