What Christians want in a president
Washington Post ^ | 11/26/2011 | Jim Daly

On Faith asks: Dr. Richard Land recently suggested that “people who campaign as traditional moral individuals are asking to be judged by different standards. If you’re going to stand up, you have to walk the walk.” What kinds of ethics, values and morals should we expect from our candidates?

A: From my perspective there are baseline non-negotiable qualities and characteristics that anyone must first embody in order to be considered worthy of holding a position of leadership – at any level. These same standards apply whether or not you’re leading a Boy Scout troop, a Fortune 500 company or serving as President of United States of America, even though such a role takes on an even greater importance given the level of responsibility.

Therefore, to suggest that a “family values” candidate must be held to a higher standard diminishes the very definition and essence of genuine leadership. In other words, I do not judge a leader by how well they meet their own standards, for what of the individual who sets their personal bar low? No, I judge a leader by standards which transcend cultural and subjective norms.

What are they?

Character and integrity sits atop my list of non-negotiable traits of leadership. It thrills the world to see an individual act and lead with honesty and conviction, both privately and publicly. The candidate who possesses the moral nerve and courage to withstand the “slings and arrows” of what might not be popular – but what is right – that is a leader deserving of his or her position. Also, at the core of every true leader is a firm commitment and acknowledgement of the dignity of every person.

No. 1....You believe in the sanctity of life....and you don't kill babies...and I mean from conception....

People scream and yell when a 2 year old gets abused but say nothing about abortions.

Daley also stood behind zero as a good example of a family man. Made me dump Focus on the Family as one of my favorite charities.

That being said, the Christian perspective is why I will no longer accept the “that's just politics” argument for supporting or voting for someone. If in my opinion they aren't worthy of the position, they will not get my vote, regardless of alternatives. To vote for a lesser evil is to vote for evil.

Well this Christian wants a guy with morals who does not cheat on his wife or her husband. Does not kill babies. Gets rid of the illegals. Does not say “happy holidays, but says Merry Christmas” and all that goes with it. Does not kiss up to illegal aliens. Wants a smaller government. Is not an idiot or stupid. See I don’t want much.

Character . . . integrity . . . knows right from wrong.

This guy is clearly a stooge for the left. Read the article, and it couldn't be more vague if you vacuumed out his head before he wrote it. But this is clearly deliberate.

What do we mean by right? What do we mean by wrong? Obama would say that it is "right" to come to the aid of Islam and to throw born-alive babies on the roof so their mothers won't be burdened by them, and that it's wrong to fight back against Muslim terrorists.

So, I guess that's OK, then. It explains why this pseudo-Christian hypocrite told everyone to vote for The One.

Yes, Jesus would be all about jdeporting people and denying them social services. There’s nothing wrong with wanting those things - just don’t hang a cross on them.

We WON'T get a real Christian president until this country lets go of its current faith: relative morality.
