A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.
Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.
No...Catholic does not mean universal...Catholic is the Proper name you guys gave to your religion...
Catholic, small c may mean universal in latin...But universal means universal in English...And since we are speaking in English on this forum, there isn't even any room for the word catholic...
Peter was anything but a rock...And no Jesus did not say YOUR church would remain until the end of the world...Jesus said THE church...Not the Church...And definately not the Catholic Church...
You want to learn what the church is, study the scriptures...
It's hard to say whether they just invented that one today, or if they just revealed another one of their long held secrets...
Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me the Apostles Creed, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord Apostles Creed shall be saved.
Man are they ever playing with fire...I'll be God's talking to himself while reading their posts...

I suppose that the best definition of Christian for the anti Catholic is "not Catholic". After all, they spawned the JWs, the Branch Davidians, the Mormons, the thousands of different Pentecostal groups and the abominable Presbyterian, Methodist and Anglican gay friendly groups.
Izzat so? 2 Timothy 2: 1 "You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also"
If you do not listen to the rightful teachers, but only the god in the mirror, you are not following Christ, but your own whims. Your own admitted substitution of other sources from the Church leads you away from Christ.
no, they ooze from hell
satan is very imaginative.
Why?
What's the point of this mental exercise?
I don’t belong to a denomination, nor a church, nor was I baptized into one.
When I got baptized as an adult after making a decision to follow Christ, it was a statement of faith, but did not confer membership into any denomination.
Romans 10:6-17 6But the righteousness based on faith says, "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7or "'Who will descend into the abyss?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
11For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" 16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?" 17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:18-24 18For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart."
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Where's the word *pope* found in Scripture?
Where in Scripture is Peter's acknowledgment of that office?
Where in Scripture are the instructions Peter left for apostolic succession, how to pick his successor?
Paul says the foundation is Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Romans 9:30-32 30What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith; 31but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. 32Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, 33as it is written,
"Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."
1 Corinthians 10:1-8 1For I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3and all ate the same spiritual food, 4and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. 5Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play." 8 We must not indulge in sexual immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day.
9We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents, 10nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer. 11Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come. 12Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.
So does Peter....
1 Peter 2:4-8 4As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6For it stands in Scripture: "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."
7So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,"
8and "A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense."
They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
Also, the burden is on you to PROVE that Paul meant the Roman Catholic church. Where's it named in Scripture?
EXACTLY the point, CB. Thanks
Why is it so difficult for Catholics to understand that a Christian is someone who believes on and trusts in Jesus for salvation?
Read my profile, that is what adults must read before getting baptized into the true faith of Christ. Mom, im sorry listen to me honestly, read about Akita: http://www.ewtn.com/library/mary/akita.htm
I also never lie.
Let me ask it this way: Do you believe the Creeds are summaries of the fundamental beliefs of the faith? [185-192]. The Catholic Church gives special recognition of the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed.[193-195]. Are they officially the summaries of the fundamental beliefs of the Catholic Church? And are they what your term for “Christian” consist of?
And what is it exactly that you think we are trying to do for Catholics? We try to teach them that the RCC has led them away from the simple gospel of Jesus.
>>If you do not listen to the rightful teachers, but only the god in the mirror,<<
So by that are you admitting that the vicar in Rome is truly your god since that is who you listen to?
Thats all in the secret tradition along with the secret hand shake that no one is supposed to know in case they want to corrupt or steal the information.
