DALLAS, November 6, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In a jarringly candid statement made to WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas, late term abortionist and Baptist Minister Dr. Curtis Boyd said that when he performs abortions he is "killing," and he has no issues with it whatsoever.
"Am I killing? Yes, I am. I know that," Boyd said during a video interview with the news station following the opening of the Southwestern Women's Surgery Center abortion facility. By law, Boyd must have a surgery center in order to abort a child more than 16 weeks along.
"We see patients from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and across Texas," Boyd said, admitting that he has performed abortions on girls as young as nine years old.
"The hardest ones are the young girls," he said, saying that girls as young as 9 and 10 years of age have been to his center for abortions.
Boyd opened the first abortion facility in Texas in 1973 following the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision and is the only doctor in North Texas who will perform late-term abortions on women up to six months pregnant.
The abortionist said he was a friend of the late Dr. George Tiller, a fellow later-term abortionist in Witchita, Kansas who was gunned down earlier this year. Like Tiller he professes to be a Christian who prays about the abortions he does.
Boyd told WFAA-TV he is an ordained Baptist minister who has now joined the Unitarian church. He said he prays often.
"I'll ask that the spirit of this pregnancy be returned to God with love and understanding," he said.
Karen Garnett, of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee, who regularly witnesses to life outside the abortion centre, noted to WFAA-TV that Boyd's prayers are "vastly different" from the ones offered by the pro-lifers on behalf of the children he has killed and the mothers they are trying to save from undergoing an abortion.
"We're certainly disappointed to hear any unborn child will be killed by abortion," said Garnett. "But, to hear it's a late-term abortion in Dallas, once again, it's particularly devastating."
“Baptist minister who has now joined the Unitarian church.” The guilt needed to be set aside so the serial killer sought a more ‘convenient’ church family. And one wonders if this demon notified athorities when doing murders on the alive unborn of nine and ten year old girls. I would not doubt this devil has ‘other’ behavior for which he absolves himself.
In other words, he became an atheist.
Well, it did say that he had joined the Unitarian church, at least. Our little peacenik UUs seem to have no problem with killing infants.
You cannot be a Baptist and a Unitarian, any more than you can be a Lutheran and an atheist, a Catholic and an agnostic, an evangelical and a Jehova’s Witness, or a Christian and a Mormon.
He might have been a Baptist, but he was never a Christian. And I say that as a Baptist-flavored Christian.
‘”I’ll ask that the spirit of this pregnancy be returned to God with love and understanding,” he said.’
Wow, thats some gall. A burtal murderer tries to put a happy face on his deeds. God’s no to be mocked. I suspect he has no idea his prayer will be answered.
I made a very pro-choice woman weep.
I listened to the pro choice woman describe many of her nine year old daughters life experiences including her granddaughters first visit to Disneyland along with several other life’s firsts moments while the whole time I smiled very approvingly.
Then I asked the lady if their was a time machine, would she want to relive those precious moments all over again??
She ecstatically said YES !!!
I then asked her, knowing she was very ‘pro-choice’, what would she do if she was in this time machine, saw her pregnant daughter walking into a Planned Parenthood to exercise her ‘reproductive rights’, as granted by Roe vs Wade and knew that her granddaughter would never be born since she was only a blood clot being eliminated from her daughters body???
The pro-choice lady cursed me out and then cried.
Bottom line: Pro-Choice folks know DAMN well that they are killing.
Well, I'm sure the Baptists are kicking themselves over that ordination. We know that wolves will infiltrate the flock wearing sheep clothing -- but it has to sting when you mess up and let one of the wolves in.
The Unitarian 'church' (or coven) is his natural home. I believe Obama's grandma-ma was a member of this society.
He said he prays often.
To who? And what?
Prayer is good. Prayer is a gift. Prayer is hard.
God will not hear if we regard iniquity in our hearts -- so I'm curious what he is praying... We all screw up -- but without a repentant heart, it seems like he has a wall between himself and genuine prayer...
Brilliant way of presenting a story to make someone think! The fact that she cried shows me that she knows how less wonderful her life would be without her granddaughter. Wonderful, Le Chien Rouge!
The cursing: she recognized that you caught her in your trap.
The tears: your message was received... vividly.
Well done - thank you.
“Well, I’m sure the Baptists are kicking themselves over that ordination.”
I would just be happy if the Baptists would remind this man about the 6th Commandment. I guess he either never learned or forgot.
According to a 2008 article:
Boyd was a foot-washing Baptist minister in rural East Texas. He left the fold..."He left the fold"...but someone still wants him identified as a Baptist. That someone is most likely Boyd himself, who courts the controversy for marketing reasons, and to tarnish faithful Baptists by insisting that he's still one of them. How long has it been since Curtis Boyd was a practicing Baptist minister, and where? According to this article, it's been nearly four decades:
Dr. Curtis Boyd, who opened the first abortion clinic in North Texas 36 years ago, has expanded his practice and now provides a rare more controversial procedure known as a late-term abortion for women up to six months pregnant. So when does "left the fold" and "joined a Unitarian church" start counting as "former Baptist minister"? More importantly, when do Catholics stop believing Curtis Boyd's press and stop regurgitating his claims of being a Baptist minister?Dr. Boyd opened the Fairmount Center, Texas first abortion clinic, in 1973.
But, after 36 years, his practice has outgrown the small office at Fairmount Street and Cedar Springs Road near Uptown.
He merged the clinic with Aaron Womens Health Center and then reopened them both under a new umbrella known as the Southwestern Womens Surgery Center at Royal Lane and Greenville Avenue last week.
Unlike his other clinic, the new location is a surgery center, which means Boyd and his staff are now able to offer late-term abortions for women in their second trimester up to six months or 24-weeks pregnant.
I can’t post what I’m thinking right now.
“They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.”
“stop believing Curtis Boyd’s press and stop regurgitating his claims of being a Baptist minister? “
You said it yourself, Boyd is the one telling people he is a Baptist Minister. I would guess that for some perverted reason he is proud of it. Why blame the “press” for reporting the news. The press does not make the news no matter their religious origin. The press just reports the news.
If you don’t like Boyd telling people he is a Baptist minister and doing abortions tell him to shut up about being a minister or stop doing abortions. He is the one making Baptists look bad not the press.
Somehow, those prayers make it all better?
So, if any old serial killer testifies in court tthat he prayed that God would accept the spirit he is returning to Him, that makes it ok?
This is just sick
I'm sorry, what does this have to do with Catholics, again?
“I’m sorry, what does this have to do with Catholics, again?”
Well you see Campion a Catholic “press agency” got the honor of reporting this story. So had it been some other pro life press agency or the liberal media it would have been okay with the Baptists that one of their own has gone rogue and flaunts it?
I would like to think that the Baptists out there would like to make the Catholics who are strongly pro life and find a way to silence this idiot (as in rebuke). No Campion they attack the messenger not the virus.
How was that?
