....I love to go to Starbucks, grab a cup of coffee, and read/study my favorite topics in book form. Once and a while I will bump into people well known in pop-culture. Michael Berryman was recently one of those people. Of course, he is best known to me from an 80′s classic, Weird Science. But he has been in many others, as his bio shows, another being a favorite of mine, The One Who Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. I at first mistook him for an officer that served in the SCV that looks believe it or not very similar. After my mistake was corrected, we had some small chit-chat showing that Michael is an amiable enough guy. I had planned on letting him go on his way, after he very nicely allowed a photo to be taken, as I had some reading to do a publisher asked me to read a pre-published book for input. However, during this small talk that was very general, Michael mentioned news, and then interjected on himself that one shouldnt watch Fox News because it is not news, far from fair and balanced, he said.
Well, this is where I put the brakes on the rest of my planes and wanted to engage the level of this mans reasoning towards truth vs. merely (like the many lemmings on the left) spewing bumper-sticker thinking as fact ad hoc....

I could not glean the result- did it end with any signs of enlightenment?
I think so? When I explained gnosticism well and roughly quoted Morals and Dogma, I think he was impressed enough that i wasn’t a yahoo. But really his bumper sticker mantras were so thick that I highly doubt it. I resolved to myself that I wasn’t going to be masochistic about it and even told myself this was a good practice session for me to stay reasonable and logical in the face of mistruths. At one point he asked me if I were given one chance to change one thing in the world, what would it be. I responded that I would want people to peacefully seek the truth. Something, I pointed out, that was missing from his multiple positions.
(...cont)... It was calm and collective for the most part. We left shaking hands and me saying to go to my site for my email if he wished to talk about anything.
This guy scared the crap out of me in “The Hills Have Eyes” back in the ‘70s. I had heard he’s a nice guy in real life, which seems to be the case here. A little misguided, perhaps, but still sounds quite personable.

Excellent! When I interact with “libertarians” and mention the fact that regimes operating under the Marxist/atheist social ideology have murdered and oppressed more people than any of the Left’s Christian social boogiemen, I am usually banned.
They have embraced the most murderous social and intolerant (political correctness) ideology to visit earth in the name of rejecting the murder committed by Catholics in history. They refuse to acknowledge the murderous practices of Muslims today and in history claiming the Christians, Jews and Americans make them do it. Amazing to me. And in an Orwellian twist, they crown themselves “truthers” - those who respect and seek truth.
Does he look like that in real life?
Point taken. I am fixing this as I type this. Thank you for the input... my wife would say you are right... narcissism is one of my natural — fallen — tendencies.
