Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and RINO Presidential candidate Mitt Romney have brought the many aspects of the breakaway LDS sect of Mormonism into the media spotlight. Energetic accusations and counter accusations, denials, coverup and obfuscation rule the discussion, all he while the forest is missed for the trees.
I present here the most shocking evidence yet brought to bear against the christianity claims of mormons.
Mormons believe Baal and Jupiter helped create the universe.
A graven image of Baal at the Nauvoo Illinois LDS Temple.
This is a photo of the very Jupiter Talisman that Emma Smith, Joseph's widow, claimed was his most prized possession and was in his pocket the day he died.
Just a little "light reading" from the breakaway LDS sect's version of Mormonism's Book of Abraham proves that mormons, like buddists, hindus, ancient greeks, egyptians and other babylonian mystery religion offshoots believe in multiple gods.
Abraham Chapter 4:
1 And then the Lord said: Let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the Gods, organized and formed the heavens and the earth.
2 And the earth, after it was formed, was empty and desolate, because they had not formed anything but the earth; and darkness reigned upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of the Gods was brooding upon the face of the waters.
3 And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light; and there was light.
4 And they (the Gods) comprehended the light, for it was bright; and they divided the light, or caused it to be divided, from the darkness.
5 And the Gods called the light Day, and the darkness they called Night. And it came to pass that from the evening until morning they called night; and from the morning until the evening they called day; and this was the first, or the beginning, of that which they called day and night.
6 And the Gods also said: Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and it shall divide the waters from the waters.
7 And the Gods ordered the expanse, so that it divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so, even as they ordered.
8 And the Gods called the expanse, Heaven. And it came to pass that it was from evening until morning that they called night; and it came to pass that it was from morning until evening that they called day; and this was the second atime that they called night and day.
9 And the Gods ordered, saying: Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto bone place, and let the earth come up dry; and it was so as they ordered;
10 And the Gods pronounced the dry land, Earth; and the gathering together of the waters, pronounced they, aGreat Waters; and the Gods saw that they were obeyed.
I’m not in the Romney camp unless he wins the nomination. Then, I’ll be there front and center. From what I hear, so will Herman Cain. I think he even said he would be proud to be his VP. So if there are any Cain supporters out there beating this Mormon horse to death, they ought to look at their own candidate again.
Thank God I live in America where you can worship a cow if you want to.....or a tree. I love this country more at moments when the freedom to worship any god you chose is under attack than I do at any other time.
Go Perry!
Lucky for me I am also a direct Descendant of Lucy Mack Harris....Smart Smart Smart Smart Smart. :)
In fact it was her along with the freeper inmans indirectly that brought me to my breaking point. I thought I was eternally damned because she lost over 100 pages of origanl manuscripts of the book of Mormon. She was trying to prove Smith a fraud when he was writign the thing and basically swiped them to compare against his replacement...Of course it wouldn't match. Smith said she and her posterity were condemned. He never replaced the swiped section, wrote that God was angry about it and wouldn;t allow him to, of course.
Thing is if you worship a cow or baal or a tree and claim to be Christian when you run for President, MANY of us are going to have a serious disagreemnt with you.
Peace.
***Breakaway?? I thought the LDS sect was the majority of mormons, by a very large margin?***
When Joe Smith got killed, the Mormon church had quite a few men claim to be the true leaders of the church. Each split off and went their separate ways.
Some followed various “prophets” like B Young, others went with Strang (Strangites), Gladen (Gladenites), and quite a few others like the RLDS.
Some went to Utah, others went to Texas or Michigan and some stayed where they were.
Even these groups fragmented. The Morrisites broke from the LDS and were shot down by Young’s militias.
Someone on FR posted a list of the various Mormon sects and they are many!
From the REAL papyrus of Abraham ...Verses 1-5
http://www.bookofabraham.com/boamathie/BOA_6.html
(I/1) [Osiris, the gods father], prophet of Amon-Re, King of the Gods, prophet of Min who slaughters his enemies, prophet of Khonsu, the [one who exercises] authority in Thebes,
(I/2) [. . .] . . . Hor, the justified, son of the similarly titled overseer of secrets and purifier of the god, Osorwer, the justified, born by the [housewife and sistrum-player of ]
(I/3) [Amon]-Re, Taikhibit, the justified! May your ba-spirit live among them, and may you be buried on the west [of Thebes].
(I/4) [O Anubis(?),51 . . .] justification(?).
(I/5) [May you give to him] a good and splendid burial on the west of Thebes as on the mountains of Ma[nu](?).
[Osiris shall be towed in]to the great lake of Khonsu,
and likewise [the Osiris Hor, the justified,] born of Taikhibit, the justified,
after his two arms have been [placed] at his heart, while
the Breathing Document, being what
is written on its interior and exterior, shall be wrapped in royal linen and placed (under) his left arm in the midst of his heart. The remainder of his
wrapping shall be made over it. As for the one for whom this book is made,
he thus breathes like the ba-spirit[s] of the gods, forever and ever.
So not only are the lds not Christians, a very good argument could be made that they are not even Mormons. They should consult their leaders about this to clear up their confusion and avoid any further future embarassment. ;)
***Baal, Jupiter, Osiris, et al are just the same name of the infamous leader of ancient Mesopotamia ****
Ever read how a man could become a priest of Attis (Osiris)?
THE GOLDEN BOUGH by Frasier has a delectible story in it. Ouch!
"Brighasm" was kind of funny though. :)
You'd better check your fruit then. Gal 1:6-9.
Self-mutilation? That’s pretty common now in America - tattoos, body mods, piercings, etc.
To be added or removed from the Viking Kityy/ZOT Ping List, FReepmail Darkwing104.
Now, Obama's Liberal/Marxist/Leftist. . .Liberation Theology - not to mention his Islamic sympathies; should bring a 'fear and trembling'. Four more years of this; and no question; America is doomed.
yea, and there are some people out there who actually believe Mary was a virgin when she had her baby. Go figure.

I am one of those believers...
In the heat of the Missouri Mormon War of 1838, Joseph Smith made the following claim, I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword. So shall it eventually be with usJoseph Smith or the Sword!
-Joseph Smith made this statement at the conclusion of a speech in the public square at Far West, Missouri on October 14, 1838. This particular quote is documented in Fawn M. Brodie, No Man Knows My History, second edition, (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1971), p. 230231. Fawn Brodies footnote regarding this speech contains valuable information, and follows. Except where noted, all the details of this chapter [16] are taken from the History of the [Mormon] Church. This speech, however, was not recorded there, and the report given here is based upon the accounts of seven men. See the affidavits of T.B. Marsh, Orson Hyde, George M. Hinkle, John Corrill, W.W. Phelps, Samson Avard, and Reed Peck in Correspondence, Orders, etc., pp. 579, 97129. The Marsh and Hyde account, which was made on October 24, is particularly important. Part of it was reproduced in History of the [Mormon] Church, Vol. III, p. 167. See also the Peck manuscript, p. 80. Joseph himself barely mentioned the speech in his history; see Vol. III, p. 162.
am not a Mormon, but all of the Mormons I have known are pretty decent people (excepting Harry Reid, who I doubt is really a Mormon).

Harry Ried was Man of the Year for the Mormons a couple of years ago...
You dont get more Mormon than that...
Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
This is offered solely as a historical response, as I understand history, and is not intended as a theological argument. I support the right of Free Republic members to their religious beliefs.
When Joseph Smith, Jr., was killed in 1844, there wasn't an established method of succession for determining the next prophet.
Members of the church were split as to whom they chose to follow as the prophet: Brigham Young, Sidney Rigdon (senior surviving member of the First Presidency), James Strang, Lyman Wight, Alpheus Cutler (one of the Council of Fifty), William Smith, David Whitmer (a witness to the Book or Mormon), or Joseph Smith III (son of Joseph Smith, Jr.). Sects of the original church went to Utah, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania
Two of those sects would strenuously object to being called sects, clearly believing themselves to be the true successor to Joseph Smith, Jr.'s church. The first is The Corporation of the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or the Mormons, based in Salt Lake City. It is by far the largest sect. It's based in Salt Lake City and traces its lineage through Brigham Young.
The second is the Community of Christ (formerly called the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) (note: no hyphen, as there was no hyphen used in the name of the church when Joseph Smith, Jr. was alive), based in Independence, Missouri, which traces its lineage through Joseph Smith, III.
Other LDS sects currently in existence are:
Short Creek Community
Latter Day Church of Christ

Apostolic Divine Church of Ghana
The majority of these sects broke away from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints after the 1890 Manifesto and still practice polygamy. However, a few broke away from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in protest of Brigham Young's teachings on polygamy; breaking away from the LDS church once it had established itself in Utah under Young's leadership was a dangerous thing to do.
Other sects broke away from Joseph Smith, Jr's original church (some in protest against polygamy), some as a result of the leadership crisis upon his death, and some as as result of men within Smith's church claiming their own translation of additional religions texts.
The Independent Latter Day Saints of Nigeria, Independent Latter Day Saints of Ghana, and Apostolic Divine Church of Ghana were sects started pre-1978, when blacks could not hold the priesthood in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and could therefore not be exalted and achieve the Celestial Kingdom. Blacks who had been converted by Mormon missionaries in Ghana and Nnigeria started their own sects of the LDS church in which they were able to hold the priesthood.
I’ve heard this about Nimrod before. Where does it come from? I find nothing in the story of Nimrod, the mighty hunter, in the Bible to hint at, or justify it.
Not saying it’s wrong, just that I don’t see it.
