Call your doctor and let him/her know about your symptoms ASAP. Also, If you're not happy with your doctor, go to another one. You need to see a specialist right away.
And, I've got some prayers going your way.

Elevate your feet above heart level. It allows your heart to not work so hard. With an enlarged heart, this is very important. Please keep us posted.

Maybe time for Lasix treatments, where you go to the hospital and they get rid of all the excess fluids?
It worked for my cousin for a long time. He had the same symptoms as you.

You need to get to a good heart specialist immediately if you have not already done so. My wife has congestive heart failure and time is of the essence. Over the past three years she has made a marvelous if not miraculous recovery but the secret is a good heart doctor!!!

We’ll be pulling and praying for you. And YES, you need to see your doctor. My husband had very bad swelling in his legs and feet and it was like pulling teeth to get him to a doctor... “What’s he going to do for me?”
I know you’re a male and probably pretty stubborn but don’t wait!!!!

You know you have my prayers.
GO TO THE VA hospital IMMEDIATELY!

You've had my prayers since the first request. Are you getting enough Potassium? That helps to regulate fluids, but check with your doctor first. I agree with someone up thread that suggested you go to another doctor or to the emergency room ASAP. This is nothing to mess with, fluid can build up and your lungs won't be able to function.
Please 2DV, get ahold of your doctor ASAP

Congestive heart failure. (Enlargement of the heart.)
Your heart isn’t pumping enough blood to your lungs; you take a full breath of air, see your chest move...and you STILL feel like you’re holding your breath underwater.
Edema from lack of circulation of the blood from the heart.
I’ve had both these things. (Not the lung problem, though.)
Do what they’re telling you: Get to a doctor, a different one. He’ll want to refer you to a cardiologist, pronto. Check into an emergency room if you must—the shortness or breath and edema point to the heart.
Additional question: Are you overweight? Do you snore? You won’t know it—trust me—but is your breathing suspended during sleep? You’ll need a sleep study—DO NOT LAUGH THIS OFF, friend. If they recommend a CPAP, just DO IT. Don’t fight ‘em. You’ll sleep better, and four months after that, you’ll be shovelling gravel like I was. My neighbor couldn’t keep up! ;)
...and I’m DREAMING once more! After ten years!
